Spy master, Judo expert, University professor, Politician, President, Prime Minister, gay icon... Looks like Russians are not going to get tired of the multi-dimentional personality of Vladimir Putin. The noises we hear from Moscow indicates that Putin may make a return as the president of the world's largest country again in 2012.

Putin's popularity soared so much that the insider talk says that there will be a puppet President installed  till his return in 2012.

Russia’s PM Vladimir Putin on Friday gave his strongest indication yet that he may run again for the presidency at the next election in 2012.

Ever since Putin’s presidential term expired last year and he made way for his chosen successor Dmitry Medvedev, there has been speculation the move was only temporary. Putin, now serving as prime minister, remains extremely popular among Russian voters despite the economic downturn and he continues to dominate the political scene.

Speaking at a luncheon of Russian academics, Putin said the transition at the top in 2008 had been a smooth one and there would not be any competition between himself and Medvedev in 2012. “We share political views.”

Apparently the Russian gays thinks that he is one (an icon) . Maybe like some people think that Daniel Craig is James Bond in real life too.

WHEN Vladimir Putin stripped down to the waist for the cameras, his muscled torso made headlines around the world.

And one week on, the ripples are still being felt in Russia, where he has become a sex symbol, the inspiration for men to start pumping iron, and the new darling of the gay lobby.
