Q'orianka Kilcher, Pocahontas Actress, Arrested at White House
Q'orianka Kilcher, the Actress Who Played Pocahontas in 2005 Arrested For Protest at White House
As reported on June 1, a mother and daughter were arrested outside the northwest gate of the White House around 5:15pm local time.
The daughter has now been identified as 20-year-old actress Q'orianka Kilcher, best known for her role in the 2005 Colin Farrell movie The New World where she played Pocahontas.
According to CBS, Kilcher tied herself to the White House fence and her 41-year-old mother Saskia poured an oily black substance all over her. It turned out the substance was black paint and although hazmat teams were on the scene the paint was not toxic.
The couple were protesting Alan Garcia Perez, the Peruvian President, meeting with President Obama at that time. Both mother and daughter were arrested and Kilcher has been charged with disorderly conduct and her mother has been charged with destruction of government property.
A call to Kilcher's publicist was not immediately returned. She played Pocahontas in the 2005 film, "The New World."
