Five American religious organizations invited
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to a dinner to break the
Ramadan fast during his upcoming visit to the United States. The
event, which will take place on September 25 on the sidelines of
the opening of the United Nations General Assembly, will be
sponsored by the Mennonite Central Committee, the Quakers, the
World Council of Churches, Religions for Peace, and the American
Friends Service Committee. It is being called "an international
dialogue between religious leaders and political figures" and it
will discuss "the role of religions in tackling global challenges
and building peaceful societies."

People had better get their Bible out and the read the word. This man is everything that is evil. For "religious" organizations to want to break bread w/ him is a shame. We are living in the end times, this is only another conformation of that. Be Blessed!

My first reaction upon hearing of this event was shock and anger. My second reaction after prayerful thought was that this is just what I would expect Jesus to do. Phrases like "turn the other cheek", "I have come for the sick not the well", " Lord forgive them for they know not what they are doing" came to mind. If this was a dinner to honor this tyrant, I would object. But if this was an effort to "pour coals of fire on his head" and demonstrate that even he can achieve eternal life and forgiveness through the power of the Holy Spirit, then I must admire the sponsors of the dinner.

George,
I do not know if the event occurred; I'll have to visit the American Friends Service Committee (Quakers). I am sure the spirit of the invitees was with Jesus, as you hoped.
