Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Europe's longest serving British Monarch, helped herself to a sumptuous serving of Turkey in her praise and support of Turkey's commitment to joining the EU. Turkey,  a Muslim moderate country, joining the European Union would be a first in establishing relations in a troubled middle eastern region.  Greece's "Spanakopita Political Minotaurs" historically "Lock Horns and Ruffle"  Turkey's Feathers  may well have to "Baste" in Turkeys "Rich Savoury Juices" if the European Union accepts Turkey into it's Larder.

France on the other hand, has shown "Rich Creamery Sauciness" in the media opposing such a  "Melding of Political European Cuisines" lambasting the British Monarch's support of what seems to be a " Roast Lamb vs Roast Suckling Pig " preference as part of the EU.

Famed "Roast Pork au Pomme"  Blouse Wearing - Cheese Eater Afficiando French Prime Minister Francois Fillon, has abruptly left the EU table more than once as he  "Dished repeatedly again " we never want Turkey in the EU, Turkey does not belong to Europe".

Perhaps the Political Chefs  of Greece and France do not realise Turkey's importance on the World's Dining Room Table as a main "Middle East Centrepiece".  A "Centerpiece", in which Western Nations will have a "Much needed Buffer" between them and the "Hostile Middle Eastern Numerous Side Dishes", which seem to take up "Much needed Real Estate on the Table", allowing Turkey as a "Main Middle Eastern Centrepiece" to Reserve a place for Western Nations, to place their warring "Eatin Irons" in the event  Western Nations and unbending Middle Eastern Nations start a "Food Fight" in which the World may be forced to bring their own Entrées one day, with "Just Desserts" for no one.

In ending, "Just Food for Thought !"

ANKARA, Turkey -- Queen Elizabeth II praised Turkey's role as a bridge between the West and the Islamic world on Tuesday during her first visit to the predominantly Muslim country in 37 years.

"For us, Turkey is as important now as it has ever been," the British monarch said at a state banquet. "Turkey is uniquely positioned as a bridge between East and West at a crucial time for the European Union and the world in general."

Wearing a tiara and dressed in a white gown decorated with beads, the queen said Turkey is "playing a key role in promoting peace, political stability and economic development in some of the world's most unsettled areas."

She referred to the Alliance of Civilizations initiative, a U.N.-backed project - co-sponsored by Turkey and Spain - aiming to increase dialogue between Western and non-Western cultures and to address the causes of conflict between them.

Funny! In this case the dinner table may be turned on us. From what I understand, the word Canada, as it is spelled and pronounced in Turkish (Kanada), literally means "Blood Island." As appetizing as Turkey may be to us, many Turks often chuckle when our own country's name is mentioned. Food for thought...

I care not how they spell or interpret Canada, as long as we are not the ones who have to clear the table and do the dishes!!

Thanks for the comments Doctor Ok, and the Turkish interpretation for Canada, much appreciated,
