Queensland schoolgirl and mother gang-bashed by 15 students
A Queensland schoolgirl and her mother were bashed by a gang of 15 students yesterday in what appears to be a racially motivated assault. 15 year old Angela Stankovic was punched and kicked at a bus stop by a gang of students, who told her to go back to her own country. Her mother was also assaulted when she attempted to intervene. The assault occurred just 3 weeks after Angela changed schools to avoid further violence from the gang, who allegedly had been bullying her for the last 12 months.
Unfortunately given this country's penchant for ridiculously lenient sentences for serious assaults - and the fact that the perpetrators are minors - will probably mean that their sentences will consist of a good behaviour bond and some anger management counselling.
