Update September 3 - Rachel Wade Sentenced to 27 Years in Prison

Update July 23 - Rachel Wade Has Been Found Guilty of Second-Degree Murder

Story from July 21:

Opening Statements in the Rachel Wade Murder Trial Began on Wednesday

Assistant State Attorney Lisset Hanewicz said Rachel Wade planned to kill Sarah Lundermann and told her so months before she stabbed her to death.

"I'm going to f------ murder you," the prosecutor told the eight jurors. "That is what Rachel Wade told Sarah Ludemann 7 1/2 months before she took a knife and stabbed her through the heart on the night she killed her."

Rachel Wade is on trial for the stabbing death of 18-year-old Sarah Lundemann on April 15 2009. It is believed that the two were in an argument over a boyfriend, Joshua Camacho. Both were allegedly really smitten with Camacho, but he never called them his girlfriends, just 'friends with benefits'. He also had a child by another woman, Erin Slothower, at the time.

CNN reports that over several months, Wade and Lundemann attacked each other verbally online an through text messages and voicemails. On the night of April 14 2009, Wade said that Lundemann had verbally threatened her and that her attack was in self-defense. She stabbed Lundemann twice and she died just minutes later.

"Rachel was telling her friends 'I'm going to f------ kill that bitch,' " Hanewicz said. "The night she killed her, she had an argument with Sarah on the phone. She told her: 'I'm going to stab you and your Mexican boyfriend.'

Rachel Wade could receive life in prison if she is convicted.

It was Lundemann who drove with a friend, Jilica Smith, the night that she died over to a house where Wade was visiting a friend. Smith says that as soon as Wade saw them, she walked towards them with a kitchen knife and she saw her friend get stabbed. Smith will be one of the many witnesses to the ongoing fight between Wade and Lundemann who will testify during the trial.

Judge Joseph A. Bulone has ordered no emotional outbursts during the trial that was packed on its first day.

Rachel Wade has been bullied long enough. I beleived that she was guilty up until I listened to her testimony. I am now convinced that she is the victim in this case. Self Defence, Self Defence.  Loud and clear.   Prosicution Lisset Haneswicz is obviousely seeking a reality show with her loud style of questioning. She merits a "BULLY BADGE" as well. No Jury will appreciate her.   AQUIT!!!!!

Grow up, stop whining, and learn how to spell. Defence? Prosicution? You shouldn't be allowed to offer an opinion on somebody's life.

This Josh  fellow is a real character he is the one who should be on trial he made these girls act the way they did.Although he didnt murder her the way he led these girls on is pathetic I feel so sorry for rachel to be driven to kill and have to defend herself I can only imagine how scared she was when being jumped by these girls.

No Josh is just stupid but NOT responsible. Teens talk shhh like HE did & even LIKE SHE DID all over the world. I am sure even Rachel didn't really think she would kill Sarah. This just spun out of control. She is guilty but those vc mails sealed her fate! She needs to go to prison but not for 20 years!! Manslaughter/10 yrs would have been more befitting. Hopefully she doesn't get the 20 yrs, then there's 2 lives wasted! smh.

I believe it was a horrible thing that happend to both sides but Rachel Wade is innocent three girls went to where she was.! yes its not right for her to bring a knife with her but i believe she was trying to scare them if they were to find her  THOSE GIRLS WENT UP TO HER WANTED TO FIND HER THEY PASSED RIGHT BY SARAH'S HOUSE . she was in a shock didnt know what to do so she had the knife and stabbed her showed no emotion because she didnt believe she did it cause she didnt WANT TO!!! .  Ive been there when i was younger saying things you do not mean but you say just to scare them its stupid to fight over such a scum bag!   THEY SHOULD HAVE ATLEAST LOWERD THE SENTENCE

When you leave msgs over & over SWEARING TO GOD saying you're going to murder someone.... (why are u doing that???) Uh hem.. Anyways, you're sealing your own fate. The devil heard her & found opportunity to take a life!!! (I'm shaking my head at this whole situation) Parents.. GET INVOLVED NOW or be sorry later!!! This should have NEVER even happened!! Someone/ADULTS should have intervened somewhere BEFORE this escalated like this. Too bad I didn't know any of you. I would have told you to think before you act out on anger!!

Rachel Wade was the real victim here. Sarah Ludemann brought this on herself when she kept bullying Rachel. Why drive to the house that she was visiting? So you were basically asking for trouble because you were looking for trouble. I bet Sarah was the one taunting Rachel and sending threats. And then Rachel one day had enough and snapped. I just wish Rachel was a little more clever and not naive. I wish the young girl had sense enough to let that scum bag of a so called man go. I wish she could have said "you know what you can have him...because he is't worth it". Now she is serving 27 years for killing a girl that she was trying to defend herself from....it's sad. It really is.
