From what I have heard on the news, all that was said was "Where did all these black kids come from?" I don't hear racism. What if I brought my class of mostly white kids to South L.A. and overheard someone ask "Where did all of these white kids come from?"
I wouldn't start crying because they identified us by our skin color.
I'm sure if the children had been albino, the comment would have been "Where did all of these albino kids come from?"
The problem seemed to be that the pool was too crowded, not the skin color.

Members were also overheard expressing fears for their children's safety and concerns for their things being stolen.

You seem to be mistaken and fooled to think the story is as simple as that. Keep living and hopefully, open your mind to the complexities of human interaction. Racism, no matter the spectrum of its poignancy, is EVERYWHERE! This is coming from an African American physician, author, amateur photographer, Christian, academician, father, husband and descendent of immigrants who has had the fortune of living in both the North and South. I pray for all the ignorant!

You are crazy as hell if you don't think this is racism. You don't know anything about being black in america. These kids did nothing wrong, it was the Parents of the white kids that made the comments. They can have there lily white club, I would never send my child there.

im a black kid and its not fair that we still have to go though this .some people think this is not racism but ifyou black and u know our history u wil feel this is very racest. i feel this is very rasest. why do it matter about our color we should be able to swim just like white people can. even if the pool was crowed why they kick the black kids out they shouldkick white people out to that wasn't fair to us. i hate that beacause they black that had to leave and just because we black that don't mean we wan't your stuff or u kid we have our own and we don't need your stuff. we shouldn't have to leave because our skin color.

If the issue was that too many kids were in the pool then why was there a reference made to the kids skin color. If there were too many kids in the pool then the statement should have been; Why are there so many kids in the pool. Plain and simple and right to the point ;But the inference was put on the color of their skin. The black children were single out amd therefore, not made to feel welcome to play with the white kids. What is racism? It is to separate and Suppress and degrade a group of people base on their race .It sounds like racism has stuck up its ugly head at the expense of our most prescious ones.
The devastation and pyscological affects that is cause by this kind of treatment will remain with these children. In 2010 we need to be vigilant in protecting the young minds and spirits of childen so that they believe and trust that they live in a country where they can become whomever and whatever they want through hard work and as citizens of this great country are free to share in all the wonderful treasures it has.

This is so sad that racism still exsits today so much as it does. This club should have never gave this group an invitation to use the pool knowing that it would be a big group. I'm sure they knew before hand how big the group was going to be. Kicking them out of the pool was not a fair choice. If you were going to kick those children out of the pool you should have kicked all the children out no matter what their color was or did a few different groups at a time so that everyone had a fair chance a getting a swin this is ridiculous. How do we expect our children to grow and become productive citizens when they are faced with racist situations such as this

Racism! what else can it be?..From the initial statement given before those kids were completely kicked out "change the complexion and atmosphere.."..unconciously they blunted this..unless they're stupid or something..And considering derogatory remarks coming from white adults going to the children. This is really unacceptable! I hope the club would learn there lesson. And I hope this world will be a better place for everyone, not just for those Caucasian bastards who think less of others!
