Racism in Top Ranks by francisrivera

Ex police Chief Ian Blair had been accused racism by his subordinates. Well if that's the case the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson is just a bigger fish for him.

In the last few months he was embroiled in a massive race row with two senior Asian officers, one of whom he suspended.

It's hard to believe that in the top ranks of a Modern Police Institution an old song like "racism" still plays its tune. But it's true as its very own officers tell the story.

Chief Constable Fuller said he himself had fallen prey to racism, with people having tried to block past promotions.

Chief Constable Fuller is England's first black chief constable and has been talked of as a possible successor to Sir Ian.

The third in command at the Met, and its most senior Asian officer, Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur, has said outgoing Metropolitan Police Chief Sir Ian Blair discriminated against him because of his race and religion.

The assistant commissioner was put on gardening leave after going public with his claims.

"What you do to others really gets back with you, sometimes in greater multitude than what you did (be it bad or good)". This must the very thing that happened to Ex Met Police Chief Ian Blair.

Indeed, it is the first time that a directly-elected mayor has forced out a British police chief.

Racism is an old disease that eats up every good thing humanity can offer.
