Radames Santiago, an 18-year-old St. John's University student was charged today with making a terroristic threat on his Facebook page (which has now been removed), in which he described his desire to execute a 'Virginia Tech attack', which was a campus shooting in 2007 when 32 people were killed by a student named Seung-Hui Cho

Santiago was charged with one count of making a terroristic threat and could face seven years in prison

He was arraigned before the Queens Criminal Court on Wednesday night and Judge Toko Serita ordered him to be held on a $6,000 bond or a $2,000 bail and he must return to court October 1, 2009.

"If a defendant posts a threat on a social networking site it will be treated seriously and investigated thoroughly," said District Attorney Brown. "Students should feel that they are in a safe environment when they attend school. Attempts to disturb or threaten the peaceful campus atmosphere will not be tolerated."

Santiago also stated that he was 'going crazy' on his Facebook page and wrote messages such as:

"I know I will do it. You know I will, and to make sure that people watch CNN or something every day after I kill everyone,"

People who saw it then reported it to the authorities. Santiago said he posted the messages, but he was drunk and depressed at the time.
