Radio Host Smerconish To Interview Obama Live From White House
Conservative radio host Michael Smerconish will broadcast his radio show from the White House on Thursday. Smerconish will interview President Obama live for twenty minutes. He is likely to focus mostly on the new health care reforms suggested by Obama's administration. This will be the first radio interview for Obama since becoming the president of the United States. Although Smerconish plans to take phone calls from listeners during the broadcast, he also asked his listeners to submit their questions during his show on Wednesday.
Smerconish's regular show broadcasts from WPHT and has been nationally syndicated since 2009. Smerconish interviewed Barack Obama before when he was still a senator. Although he is republican, Smerconish endorsed Barack Obama for President in 2008.
Smerconish's show will be aired tomorrow, August 20, at 1:10 PM on the Big Talker 1210 AM WPHT. You can listen to it at www.thebigtalker1210.com.
“I am proud and excited to be the first radio broadcaster on the watch of this President to be invited into the White House to interview the President of the United States and include telephone calls from my listeners, ” said Michael Smerconish. “There are no ground rules. I am not prescreening with the White House on what the subject matter will be. I run my radio program with dignity and respect for this president and other public officials. I do not intend to take calls from listeners who want to offer platitudes, nor take cheap shots against the President. I used the last portion of today’s program to seek out listeners with pointed direct and substantive questions about Health Care. We’re looking for questions that have not already been asked.”

A conservative radio host and also an Obama supporter will interview the President straight from the White House. This is a first time in history, a conservative talk show host is going to allowed to broadcast directly from the White House, as President Obama has invited Michael Smerconish to do exactly that. Michael Smerconish is not a centrist who happens to lean Republican, he is a dyed in the wool conservative, and he has voted Republican all his life. He voted for Barack Obama in 2008. The President will hold the broadcast in the Diplomatic Reception Room, where the Fireside Chats are held, and will field questions largely about health care reform. It's hard to believe Michael Smerconish is going to the White House – Limbaugh couldn't get in, no matter how much fast cash he offered.
