Semarang, C Java (ANTARA News) - Railway tracks between Poncol and Alastuwo stations in Central Java, were inundated on early Tuesday, delaying a number of trains` journeys up to three hours.
Rains falling on Semarang since Monday evening triggered inundation since around 2 am local time, Warsono, a spokesman of the Railway Company (PT KAI)`s Semarang chapter, said here on Tuesday.
The delays affected trains serving Jakarta-Surabaya route and vice versa, he said.
Rail tracks between Poncol and Tawan stations were inundated by up to 18 centimeter-deep floodwaters.
The trains had to be pulled by a small but higher locomotive to pass through the inundated tracks.(*) END
