Rakhi Sawant Choses Elesh Parujanwala for Marriage on Live TV
It is a first on Indian Television when outspoken Bollywood Actress more known for her Item Numbers in Bollywood movies Rakhi Sawant chose to select Elesh Parujanwala as her husband.

The daily show might be off air, but Kahani Abhi Khatam Nahi Hui Mere Dost!! Post the know each other period, they will get married (as of now) so there is loads of PR in store for Rakhi and NDTV Imagine!!
This is for the first time in the history of Indian television that a know celebrity chose her life mate in a televised reality show named Rakhi Ka Swayamvar! The show took NDTV Imagine to new heights.
There were loads of media speculations echoed by people that it will end in a farce, but it actually happened, Rakhi Sawant actually selected her life partner, out of 16 candidates in presence of families of the final three.
The three finalists to be chosen from were Elesh, Manas, Chittiz and as per NDTV Imagine Elesh got 78% of popular vote, so India had already guessed that he will be the chosen one.
There were a few legal hurdles, but in the end the final selection went deferred live across the globe.
The actual ceremony went like this:
Rakhi prayed to her lord Jesus and with the permission of Mr. Nair CEO of NDTV Imagine went with a garland in her hands and chose Elesh over the other two.
Post that there were the usual reactions from the Bride and Groom and his family. They exchanged rings and cut a cake too.
What prompted you to take part in ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’?
The fact that the girls in Toronto are very different from the girls in India. They don’t want to invest time in building a relationship. Moreover, I was setting up a new business with a friend in Mumbai for which I have to live in Mumbai for six months in a year. I knew Rakhi before I participated in the show... and that helped. And most importantly, I feel I’m mentally and physically ready to get married.
Samir Nair, CEO of NDTV Imagine, says that the police complaint filed against item girl Rakhi Sawant and five others linked to the reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamvar for infringement of copyright won't affect the live telecast of the wedding on Sunday.
"We're telecasting the marriage deferred-live (minutes after actual shooting) and we don't anticipate any trouble. This guy from Jaipur [Gaurav Tiwari] filed a case against us in a district court. They passed an order against him. Then he moved to the high court. His case was dismissed from there," Nair said.
