NP Rank:
Ralph Nader for President? A Personal Perspective
MSNBC broadcasted in its breaking news segment that Raplh Nader was running for President of the United States as an Independent Candidate in the year 2008. Ralph Nader was and is a force in the political arena in the United States of America from the 1960's. Ralph Nader was a rare child of the 1960's with his suit and tie in the middle of those who were wearing long hair and bell bottoms. Ralph Nader was later to serve as some form of Comic Relief for television shows of the 1960's and 1970's called "Rowan and Martin's Laugh In" and the various incarnations of "The Sonny and Cher Show".
Ralph Nader's attempts at political office were noticeable failures yet the Democrats have blamed him for the Republican Victories of the 2000 and 2004 Elections. The Republicans did not win the White House because of Ralph Nader taking away votes from the Democrats. The Republicans and Democrats could have won the Presidential Elections since the votes of Ralph Nader [according to the United States Elite and the United States Mainstream Media] did not affect the balance nor the statistics.
I ask this of the United States Mainstream Press and the United States Elite, why the publicity for Ralph Nader when there are serious candidates such as George Phillies? I have another question, if the vote for a Third Party is a wasted vote, why did the Republicans and Democrats nullify 57,000 signatures from the Libertarian Party Petition to place Michael Badnarik on the ballot? If the vote of a third party or an independent is a wasted vote, why so much publicity for Ralph Nader who is just simply running for President to keep his name on the front page of a newspaper or a Television Station?
Ralph Nader does not have the electric charge of the messages of the Libertarian Party and George Phillies. Ralph Nader is a person who had his time in the decade of the 1960's and should bow out and let others take the mantle of the Independent Candidacy for President. In other words, Ralph Nader should retire.

AlvarezGalloso, I like this story. It's good stuff. I don't think that Nader should retire from politics, but I do think he should try a new approach, as the electoral process hasn't remotely worked out for him yet.

Nader is good for America, but he is not good for the election. He knows that he doesnt stand a chance, so he's taking away from the Democratic nomineee!
Ralph Nader is running for president, we all know that now. But maybe he should think about what's best for America.

Jack99: I was aware of the other article. The problem was I tried to add my article to "Ralph Nader is Running For President" and the result was that my computer transferred me to a page to write another article. Regardless, I consider it a contradiction to suggest that a vote for Nader is a wasted vote and then say he stole votes from the Democrats. There are people who live in America even those born and raised in the USA] and they no longer believe in the status quo of Republicans and Democrats. I was just writing a personal reflection. Again, thanks for your comments.

Jordan: Thanks for the article by Allison Kilkenny and for your insight about Nader. I might do a rethink of Nader.

ok. so it's obvious none of you know what your talking about. Number 1 ralph didnt make the democrats lose. the corporations bought people out and rigged that election. gore knows he won and gore has told nader he knows its not his fault. second you cant "steal" votes from someone if anyone has the right to run for president either everyone is spoiling it or no one is a spoiler.number 3 nader just gets better and better, you say he runs again to stay on a magazine or whatever. thats malarky he is willing to destroy his past reputation to put things right in politics because rep. and dem. are just corporate candidates that get bought out and do what they are told. and even if that wasn't true which it is. mccain and obama voted majority for all of bush's laws and shit. someone pick up and newspaper everyonce in a while. this country is ran by corporations and until we break that down this country is headed in a downward spiral. why do you think no 3rd party candidates debate. they dont want to??? no the debate commitee is controlled by a old head of rep and old head of dem. and they choose who is and is not on stage. WE HAVE MORE THAN 2 CHOICES!!!!! thats why ralph is running again to close that gap. now im only 22 and im sure your older than that so please stop being ignorant and just look at the facts. k. o and sorry about that hush mouth you just recieved but know what your talking about.by the way bush won by 537 voted in florida. 200,000 democrats voted republican that year. blame them not just one person a**holes. VOTENADER.ORG if interested in reality.

I am aware that there are more than 2 candidates. I am aware that Ralph Nader is one of the choices but we either need Bob Barr of the Libertarian Party or Cynthia Mc Kinney of the Green Party. Either that or have all of the parties select a Unity Candidate. Maybe Ralph Nader would be the Unity Candidate.
