Tracy Grimshaw responds to Gordon Ramsay

Update 06/10/2009 5:04 am EST According to a spokesman, Ramsay is sorry for Grimshaw rant, yet "He denied calling the Nine Network veteran a lesbian while appearing at Melbourne's Good Food and Wine Show during which he also allegedly compared her to a pig, using an offensive photo as a prop."

Australian TV Chef Gordon Ramsay is under fire for calling Tracy Grimshaw, a leading Australian journalist and host of A Current Affair,  a "lesbian" and "an ugly old pig".

He made the comment while giving a demonstration at a food show in Melbourne Saturday attended by about 3,000 people. His comment followed an uneventful appearance on journalist Tracy Grimshaw's show Friday night.

He told his audience that current affairs presenter Grimshaw, was "a lesbian" and "an ugly old pig". He then showed the audience an image of a woman doctored with the features of a pig.

"That's Grimshaw," he told the shocked audience. "Holy crap. She needs to see a Botox doctor."

Grimshaw, though, retaliated on her program Monday night, calling Ramsay an "arrogant narcissist" and a "bully."

"Obviously Gordon thinks that any woman who doesn't find him attractive must be gay," Grimshaw said. "For the record, I don't and I'm not."

Grimshaw continued her attack Tuesday in a radio interview during which she said Ramsay would not be invited back on her program.

I think there are much better ways to getting one self  "in the limelight".:) I really am at a loss sometimes to comprehend the ignorance of some people. It definitely is going around, hate speech that is.

That would cause most to be under fire for any such insults and I dare to say for lack of better words, "Phobic or even Racist" like thinking.

Thank you for reading, commenting, and for the recommendation, Paschen! Yes, and it seems to be a bad habit with some people lately (as I indicated to 'jazz', above). Nevertheless, I am glad that Ms. Grimshaw addressed the situation, and for at least one reason: that she understands that "...bullies thrive when no one takes them on."

I don't know what's been going on the past six months, but it looks as if Gordon is off his meds.  I so enjoy his TV shows and have read his autobiography -- poor boy makes good.  It's a shame to see him involved in this nastiness.

Barbara, thank you for reading, commenting, and for the recommendation! Yes, it is a shame to see him involved in this nastiness. He definitely needed to be "called out".
