NP Rank:
Ranil Wickramasinghe Takes Wing on a Dubious Tour
Opposition and UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to make another controversial tour of Europe. Local political sources said the main aim of his European tour is to hold discussions with several Scandinavian officials on the situation in Sri Lanka and a strategy to save the LTTE leadership now trapped in Mullaitivu.
In a desperate attempt to exert more international pressure on the Government to go for a ceasefire with the LTTE terrorists. Wickremesinghe intends to paint a gloomy picture of Sri Lanka to the international community. Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said the Opposition Leader appears to be playing a new role as the international spokesman for the LTTE terrorists. “I have pointed this out in Parliament too. It was Anton Balansingham who campaigned for the LTTE internationally in the past. Since his death, the LTTE got Siva Pasupathi to do that job. But since their international campaign got weakened, the LTTE has got Wickremsesinghe to act as their international spokesman,” the Minister said.
Wickramasinghe intends to paint a gloomy picture about the situation in Sri Lanka to the International community. This is not the first tour he has undertaken. Previously too, he has travelled to many countries crying 'foul' after he lost the Presidential Elections in 2005.
Today, the people of Sri Lanka are aware what a plight the country would be in, if he had won the presidential elections.
Wickramasinghe, the Leader of the opposition has lost a total of 19 elections including 2 presidential elections. There have been many occasions where the UNP membership had tried to oust him from the post of party leader. Begging on most of the occasions, Wickramasinghe has managed to hang on to the leadership like a leech.
Wickramasinghe can be counted as the one person who has tarnished the image of Sri Lanka and is responsible for the current international pressure that is mounting and calls for a ceasefire.

This is wonderful news. I;m sure Sri Lanka will need plenty of volunteers to help in the rehabilitation and recovery stages.
I'm also sure you will be welcome if you tap the right sources.
As for Ranil, I'm sorry to say that he also needs a Doctor - rather a phsychiatrist urgently.

Ranil has visited the SL Embassy to assess the damages. He had spoken to the staff there and in his short speech, he has said," Government Ministers who have not come to Oslo to check out the situation at the Embassy should be chided".
Can you imagine, this is the guy who wanted to be our President?
He has only lost 19 consecutive elections. Speaks volumes about his capabilities.
