WOW. This video is REALLY poorly researched.

Yes, a man named John Hanson served as ONE OF (third) the first presidents under the Articles of Confederation. HOWEVER he was definitely not black. The man pictured is a Liberian senator named John Hanson who came over a century later.

He wasn't unanimously elected, and held far less power than the presidents of today. If anything, the almost complete lack of power of the president was one of the reasons for abandonning the articles of confederation. I don't think there's any record of people "fleeing the capital" either.

So yeah, pretty grossly inaccurate in pretty much every way.
