While the world continues to revolve around the GM Bankruptcy Proceedings, Zimbabwe still deserves to remain in the spotlight. The European Union has announced that it will help Zimbabweans without adequate health and food.

The funds which are valued at eight million euros will be used for medicines, medical supplies, water treatment [equipment] and spare parts which will be used to upgrade plants. The aid will be administered by the United Nations, Red Cross/Red Crescent, and other non governmental agencies.

Regardless, Zimbabwe is in need of more foreign aid and the MDC still complains that persecution persists in spite of a National Unity Government. There is also a food crisis in which 55% of the children who died of cholera were malnourished.

In other news, Great Britain has announced that it will accept 500 elderly Britons who live in Zimbabwe whose pensions and investments have been wiped out by the Zimbabwean Government policies. While Desmond Tutu has expressed hope that there could be a resolution of the crisis in Zimbabwe, he still declared it a hell on earth.

While the National Unity Government has been making progress, the process for Zimbabwe is still a long and painful one at the present time.
