Anti-Semitic attacks in the UK doubled in the first half of this year compared with the same period in 2008, according to new figures.
The Jewish Community Security Trust, which monitors anti-Semitism, says it recorded 609 incidents between January and June - up from 276 last year.
Most incidents were abusive behaviour, but there were also 77 violent acts.
The trust said the rise had been driven by anger over Israel's military campaign against Hamas in Gaza.
But why pick on the jews in UK most do not back Israel?

Babel-Fish, I am astonished at your claims. If anything the Jewish community in the UK is very behind Israel. Where do you get these notions? I am having a difficult time understanding your motivations and lack of serious investigation. These false claims only mislead and give false impressions to an already uniformed global audience.

You are welcome to your opinion but your completely wrong in my opinion, as most moderate jews are not backing or supporting Israel in United Kingdom. Its a fact I have no need to prove it, we British Jews are not subjected to the indoctrination that issues from Israel. Yes of course the arabs started the vendeta but its now a case of both sides of the conflict being as vicious and full of hatred as each other, Israel is in a defencive mode an viciously very heavy handed with 5 times the might in responding to an attack on its soil. Yes that is the same opinion that most Jews in my country have about this constant vendetta.
I have wrote about the problem and have studied and research as thorough as possible please read Medinat Yisrael-jewish problem in this matter I am not within the dark and you should be astounded and question the propaganda fed by tour media in Israel. Though perhaps opinions have changed within the jewish community and more moderates now side with Israel than was the case when I left UK 9 years ago. But that is not the vibes I have recieved by what I have read on the internet or seen in the news and media coming out of UK. Also to the many british jews people over the past noine years I have debated with or been personal in contact whilst abroad in South East Asia.
Zionism is however much alive in UK but its not as strong as it use to be and not as strong as it is in the United states.
However your opinion is respected and your patrotism shines through.

Your hostility of Israel shines through your comments. No more be said. I stand by the truth on record and not the assumptions nor the clairvoyance you seem to confuse as the truth. Wrong on this one my friend.
