Redwood City Plane Crash Kills 3: Video of Plane in Water
In Redwood City a Plane Crashed Into a Lagoon in Redwood Shores: Three People Have Been Confirmed Dead
Among the dead is 91-year-old Steel executive Robert Borrmann, along with his pilot and the pilot's girlfriend as reported by The San Francisco Chronicle. All three bodies have now been recovered from the water.
The plane crash occurred on Thursday morning just north of Twin Dolphin Drive after it had taken off from San Carlos Airport. CBS5 reports that the place was headed for San Martin.
The plane is listed to be a twin-engine Beech 65 Queen Air and had only been in the air for 30 seconds before crashing. The first named deceased was the 40-year-old woman.
The crash occurred during lunch hour for many workers in buildings around the lagoon, so there were many witnesses to the crash.

Steve Hornstra, owner of Steve's Cafe and Catering on Twin Dolphin Drive, said he was returning from a delivery run to nearby office buildings when he heard a loud airplane engine.
"I looked up because this plane was maybe three or four times louder than normal," he said.
"It was a bigger plane," Hornstra said. "It wasn't one of those two-seaters."
He said the aircraft wasn't sputtering or smoking but looked like it was "struggling to get elevation." It veered to the left then the right, he said.
San Francisco News reports that this is the same lagoon where 50,000 gallons of sewage was discovered only a few days ago.
Rescue workers have said the lagoon is murky, so any recovery effort took longer than expected.
The identity of the pilot and his girlfriend have not been released at the time of publication.
