UNION bosses were last night planning fresh strike action at the Grangemouth refinery after negotiations stalled again.

A second crippling stoppage could now take place in as little as seven days - shutting the refinery for a month.

Members of the Unite union held a mass rally yesterday at the start of their 48-hour walkout, which has threatened to cause mass disruption at Britain's petrol pumps.

The strike is over changes to company pensions. Union and plant bosses are unlikely to reach a compromise soon.
