Rembember Pearl Harbor - December 7, 1941
Today is "Pearl Harbor Day" in the United States of America.
The day that Japan initiated a surprise attack on United States military forces at the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, 68 years ago, killing thousands of American soldiers and others, causing millions of dollars in damage and destroying part of the U.S. Naval Fleet. The attack on the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor is what prompted the United States to finally enter the war.
With all the wars and other problems going on throughout the world today, we tend to forget the past and our history in attaining the present and how we have persevered in preserving our freedoms in securing our American way of life.
It is in memoriam and respect that this short story has been written as a Tribute and reminder, so that Americans might observe with dignity for our living and fallen heroes and for their courage and service, defending America and the rest of the world against tyranny.
There is very little I can add to the voluminous record regarding the attack on Pearl Harbor in The State of the Hawaiian Islands on that fateful day so I will leave it up to you, the reader to research on your own and remember in your own way, honoring our living veterans and in observance of our fallen heroes.
THANK YOU... to all the WWII veterans for your service in keeping America Free and Safe during a most troubling and unfortunate time in the world and our Nation's history.
