at 11 am on november 1918,an armistice was signed by germany finaly signifying the long-awaited end to the war.

as soon the news was known cities and towns around australia erupted into celebrations,many soldiers wrote of a sense numbness.it took several days for the implications of  the armistice ,to believe fully this war was over and had survived and will be retourning home.les we forget the 13 millions who did not make it.
