Fresh off her insane claim that President Obama wants mandatory re-education camps for young people, Minnesota Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann tried to slyly infer that the swine flu has only occurred under Democratic Presidents Carter and Obama, but as usual, she's wrong again.

During an interview with PajamasTV, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) falsely claimed that the last swine flu outbreak occurred under “another Democrat President, Jimmy Carter.” Bachmann, however, insisted (wink wink) that she was not trying to blame either man for the outbreaks:

BACHMANN: I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under Democrat President Jimmy Carter. And I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it is an interesting coincidence.

The only problem is that the last U.S. outbreak of swine flu did not begin under Carter. Rather, it began in February of 1976, when Republican Gerald Ford was president.
