Republican Hired Young Political Majors Head Arrested
Mark Jacoby, the owner of the firm Young Political Majors, hired by the California Republican Party to register voters, was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of voter registration fraud.
In an article from the Latimes.com:
State and local investigators allege that Mark Jacoby fraudulently registered himself to vote at a childhood California address where he no longer lives so he would appear to meet the legal requirement that all signature gatherers be eligible to vote in California. His firm, Young Political Majors, or YPM, collects petition signatures and registers voters in California and other states.
The firm, Young Political Majors, was recently implicated by voters for deceiving them into registering as Republicans as the voters tried to sign what they believed were petitions seeking to toughen penalities for child molesters.
The organization was been the focus of investigation and has been accused of the same activity in 2004.

Maybe this falls under the "be careful what you wish for" category.

Thanks for the flag and the link, Tina.
From the outset, it must be acknowledged that there is a difference between possible voter registration fraud and possible voter fraud, the former doesn't necessarily transform into the latter.
One distinction to be made between the allegations leveled at ACORN and the Young Political Majors seems to be one allegation, deceptively acquired party affiliation, is not as easily tackled as the name question associated with ACORN.
The system in place for voting at the polls would not accommodate anyone attempting to show up to vote several times, even if they have registered numerous times.
If Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck or Superman show up at the polls, odds are, they won't have paperwork to verify their identity and therefore, won't be allowed to vote.
Changing party affiliation at the polls upon arriving at the polls on election day cannot be done.
Since anyone from any party may vote for whomever they choose, the party affiliation issue would seem only to be of value as use for the representation of numbers registered by the two parties.

Karen Hatter, I like this story. It's good stuff.
LOL and people think it's just ACORN that's doing this......
the truth comes out eh?

Karen Hatter, I like this story. It's good stuff. I wander if it's any truth to that addage that people that yell/scream the loudest about something are usually guilty of something themselves. (Soooooo much attention has been focused on ACORN by a certain politician, and now we see (allegedly) what is going on in his party)

I'm trying to determine whether this guy is related to Jeff Jacoby of the Boston Glob. Jeff's a typical conservative, having never worked a job for wages in his life. I know his family. They're all conservative (Orthodox, actually), and naive as hell.
