Republican legislators sue to stop Palin investigation
by Channel 2 News staff
Tuesday, September 16, 2008ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Five Republican legislators filed suit Tuesday in state Superior Court in an attempt to halt an investigation into abuse of power allegations against Gov. Sarah Palin, now Republican presidential candidate John McCain's running mate.
Rep. Wes Keller, Rep. Mike Kelly, Rep. Bob Lynn, Sen. Fred Dyson, and Sen. Tom Wagoner filed the suit, which claims that the investigation has "lost the appearance of impartiality," according to a press release.
The Legislative Council's investigation into Palin's firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan is "being driven by partisan politics" and amounts to a smear campaign, the press release says.
The probe by independent investigator Stephen Branchflower is overseen by project manager Sen. Hollis French, who has come under fire by the McCain-Palin campaign recently for comments made to the media.

Shouldn't be much news since it is an investigation and not public entertainment. However, everybody here KNOWS it is political tripe. Everybody at the State level and many at the Local level are subject to similar treatment and it seemed like they had half the Legislature under indictment last year. Blame it on oil. Also listen to Catherine Austin Fitts sometime if you need a Halloween scare from the political scene.

Sen. Fred Dyson is one of the most ethical men I know. He is a wise man who does not step into things quickly. He is like the old sage who lets the young bucks spew their reactions before wrapping it all up with well thought out wisdom. For Fred and Wes to step into this mess tells me alot.
Fred & Wes don’t need to be someone else’s pitbull to get their self-esteem. They are not looking to climb up others backs to postioion themselves for gain. Fred has been th greatest advocate for children in the legislature. His wife and him have taken in scores of kids as foster parents. If Fred acted, he truly believes that the investigation has morphed into politics. I’ll take that to the bank, if it’s still open!

Keep after this story...it would be a crime if this investigation was stopped in any way! Just the sort of stuff that the current administration has engaged in for the past eight years.
