Republicans: A Party of Lies
Three years ago, a columnist wrote that President Obama should "go gangsta" on GOP for its obstructionist tactics and its lies to the people.
Obama may or may not go gangsta on GOP, but I will.
What many people do not understand is that the Republican Party is the party of lies. It started under Nixon; it went on under Reagan; it became still more so with the presence of Rush Limbaugh, Pat Robertson and Karl Rove; it manifested to its greatest extent under Bush Jr.; and it's going on now with Rick Santorum, Glenn Beck and many others.
The Republicans lie about everything. They deny the reality of global warming and the carbon emissions crisis. They deny the responsibility of Reagan and Bush for the deficits that they caused. They deny Clinton the credit for the vast economic growth that took place in 1990s and for the fiscal sanity that his policies accomplished. They blame everything on the "liberal" academia and give credit for everything to Republicans, nevermind that academic science is behind everything that business sells, and without it capitalism would be nothing more than exchange of basic commodities.
Nevermind that the vastly Democratic computer industry - pioneered by a hippie and located in vastly Democratic Seattle, Bay Area, and Democratic-voting areas of virginia - has been the true engine of 1980s and 1990s prosperity.
Nevermind that the hard-right economic entities - such as Texas Oil and the beef industry - are economic parasites that, in case of Texas Oil, has lied to the people for decades and lobbied the government to suppress reality and to undermine progress in energy sector; and that, in case of the beef industry, is reliant on government subsidies to the point that it takes land that could be used to feed 2 billion people and raises most of it to raise cattle feed, so that instead of reaping vast economic benefit from selling the food abroad - and vast political benefit from giving it away in time of famine - America reaps diabetes and debt.
Nevermind that Republican media, from Pat Robertson to Rush Limbaugh to Alex Jones, is a pack of liars who tell people such absurdities as that AIDS is God's way of controlling the homosexual population, that 9-11 happened because God removed his protective umbrella over America, that the world is run by a Satanic New World Order conspiracy, that a college student who uses birth control is a prostitute, and that George Bush - who got into office through fraud and put America into the worst place it's been in in generations as well as lying to get it into a trillion-dollar war - is a man of principle and integrity.
The biggest Republican lie is that they speak for values and character. In fact, they are nothing but a bunch of conmen. They have corrupted the family courts to the point that children whom Republicans sexually abuse or women whom Republicans batter are silenced, and the perpetrators are not only protected but, in many cases, given custody. They have used fraud to steal the 2000 election and impose on America a corrupt, unelected, and ruinous regime. They have been howling for the heads of the people who inform the taxpayer of what the government is doing with his money, even while they continue to claiming that they want transparency and accountability in the government. They have spent millions in taxpayer money - and a year of everyone's time - trying to hound a successful president out of the office, while protecting the real, severe crimes of Bush Jr. that ffectuated in a million dead. They have passed laws that allow the government to put away people - including a 74-year-old woman - in places that practice torture without legal warrant. They claim to have "family values" as they want an end of the world before the children being born now have reached maturity. And they continue to make the ridiculous claim that they can lower taxes, cut the debt and increase the military spending at the same time, and have so little respect for the people's intelligence that they believe they would swallow this foolishness.
What the voter needs to know is that Republicans not only don't care about him, but that they think he's stupid. Their strategy is to pretend to have the voters' values and to keep feeding them a line that they want to hear while taking the opportunity to kick the voters in the rear. There is no conceivable way that one can lower taxes, cut the debt and increase the military spending at once at the time that the baby boom is retiring. There is no conceivable way that one can achieve a better lifestyle and a livable environment without using better technology than oil and dirty coal. There is no conceivable way that one can achieve economic and technological progress without relying on science that is at the root of all technology. And there is no way to achieve liberty without accepting that different people will want different lifestyles, including other lifestyles than the nuclear family led by an authoritarian male. Their rhetoric about freedom and American patriotism is a pack of lies. They do not tolerate freedom and do everything they can to destroy it wherever they find it. As for patriotism: They ruined America. And they did that to the point that, three years down the road, it still has not recovered from the ruin inflicted upon it by the unelected Bush regime.
Are there Republicans who are actually honorable? Well that's up to the Republicans. Bush trumped McCain in the 2000 primary, when McCain had a measure of honor and Bush and the people behind him had none. In today's primary, we see a very transparent fraud that is Rick Santorum battling a much more rational-sounding Mitt Romney. There is zero honesty in Rick
Santorum. Whether there is any honesty in Mitt Romney remains to be seen.

problem with Romney is, that he is the embodiment of "big money". I did not hear any deep, enriching idea from him.. we fight big money politicians even in E. Europe. In Russia, Putin is the lesser evil,. because bigger evil are big money candidates or communists.

This is the first time I've seen someone denounce big money and communists in the same sentence. Eastern European politics are interesting. What kind of candidates are most appealing to the public there?

It is a challenging question and issue at the same time. well, most appealing candidates in this portion of the world {Europe} are the ones who are new, intelligent with a vison to make public life cleaner and healthier by getting rid of - first of all corruption and big money from shadowy sources and discreet finance groups. It is a hard task indeed. These kind of new political leaders are emerging in Slovakia as well as {in smaller numbers} in Hungary.
