The Republicans, To Save The Day?

And, so the primary season is heating up. The return of obnoxious TV ads where each candidate tries to smear the other with innuendo's and most often false accusations. The audacity of the political arena continues to interrupt the airways. If these political commercials actually tried to detail positive solutions to the many problems of our times where shared information which is essential for education would in fact lead to positive results. But, as always ever since Television was invented every political advertisement for any particular candidate fails to utilize this medium for education. One can now only sit back and watch with a bowl of popcorn at these ads for what they really are; poor entertainment. We'd be much better off watching Laurel and Hardy or the Three Stooges.

All across America there continues to be so many places that have become so blighted where practically whole populations have been ravaged by the harsh economic times of today. In every city and town from sea to shining sea strip mall after strip mall, city block after block where whole buildings are becoming so deteriorated that no amount of restoration will ever be able to make them inhabitable again are all to apparent. All one has to do to really see how horrific some of the conditions Americans are living under is to walk through sections of New York, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, and practically any other city not to mention in the rural sections all across the country millions continue to live in squander and filth. But, wait it's primary season once again! Unfortunately, there is no Mighty Mouse to come and save the day.

What is so lost by the illustrious Republican candidates is there ability to actually see and comprehend the dire predicament millions of Americans are actually in. The evolution of our political system has become a mockery of the democratic process. A self perpetuation of self serving bureaucrats continues to evolve out of a system that has become so corrupted the everyday Americans has not a chance of ever seeing any equality or equal opportunity for themselves or their family. The ideals and principals that were the bedrock of the founding of the United Stats has crumbled under the weight of the all mighty dollar.

This is the time to put rhetoric aside and use the medium of Television and the Internet for what they are designed to do. To educate, to inform and to enlighten a very disenchanted, disillusioned and despondent population. Now is the time to usher in positive solutions that have a real immediate impact on the lives of so many millions of Americans who thirst for a better quality of life. To give hope is inspirational in these times of need. Sure, there have been outward signs that the times are gradually improving. But for so many more Americans the effects have yet to impact their lives and livelihoods.

The ravages of the economic blunders of a failed corrupt political system continues to manifest itself into a juggernaut of despair regardless of what our Republicans have countered with. Take a city of Tampa, Fl. for example. In one of the most affluent sections there are strip malls that continue to deteriorate because of either abandonment, force out of business, or bank foreclosure. They all have a devastating effect on the economy of the city. This in turn also affects the county, the state, the southeast region and eventually the whole country. Now just think of the enormous effects of thousands of similar places that are left barren where no commerce takes place on the economy of each area through-out the entire United States. It is just horrendous. The question all should be asking is how to regain all that was and is lost in regards to economic redevelopment?

To fully answer that question every political candidate, or elected official regardless of political affiliation have to realize that to only continue to operate the way we have been is a sure fire recipe for continued economic strangulation. The hard cold facts that contribute to so much dismal failures of economic policy are these: The financial institutions yes, the very same ones that through the book away on sound financial and banking policies that worked for generations only to create the worst financial disaster since the Great Depression have yet to organize policies, and decorum befitting an environment conducive for economic resurgence. The trade agreements of the past especially NAFTA have continued to undermine domestic production and employment opportunities for the past 20 years. The current agricultural policies continue to erode the domestic farmers output of domestic produce where our dependence on importation of over half of the United States food sources has only increased. This while at the same time the health benefits from the food that is consumed continues to decrease in nutritional value. These are just some of the most pressing concerns that continue to erode the stability and security of this once great nation.

With the Republicans their continued answers have been most constant in their denial of these certain facts. We must always remember the the security and stability of any nation lies in the health of all citizens. The availability of resources, the necessary tools to work with and of course the education and knowledge to effectively use the resources and tools to better society as a whole is also of paramount importance. The actual realization of the Williams Theory Of Economic Evolution is the greatest economic impact that any society can have. But, sadly here in the United States with continued failure by our current and proposed policies the fulfillment of the Theory Of Economic Evolution will never be realized by most Americans.

What will it take for the United States to have the majority of Americans actually be a part of fulfilling the Theory Of Economic Evolution? An example of how this is achieved occurred when the United states was faced with it's first real energy crisis back in the mid 1970's. During the recession that followed many small businesses ended up filing for chapter 13 [bankruptcy protection] or just plain shut their doors. In the end many business establishments were left vacant. In order to help alleviate this crisis of more abandon buildings that carried with it a blighted neighborhood and worse yet no tax revenue cities began establishing Economic Development Departments. What was proposed to remedy an already deteriorating condition to regain established businesses and encourage new business entrepreneurs was quite simple. But, it took the combination of cooperation between banks who held mortgages on existing establishments, the city council, and the business community where small business and prospective small business entrepreneurs. It was decided to keep buildings occupied rather than vacant when a business falters. To encourage occupancy over vacancy where a vacant building doesn't generate any revenue or economic output. This, combined with the cost to eventually restore or tear down out weighs the cost of occupied store fronts makes it more feasible to keep businesses open. It has been and still very lucrative to offset all these contingencies by pro rating rents and mortgages on properties where businesses would remain affixed while maintaining a level of propriety by adjusting their rents or mortgages by the percentage of volume of business done each month. It was and is better to have buildings occupied and generating some financial dividends rather than exposing vacant property to the elements. It worked and subsequently more business occurred, greater financial rewards for the city let alone for the business themselves resulted and long term financial economic growth was re-established. But, it took cooperation between financial institutions, the city and business leaders to make it all happen. The same approach will work today. What is missing is the lack of cooperation by most of the financial industry whose Neanderthal frame of mind still exists.

In all the rhetoric floating around today not one positive mention of any economic solutions are being offered. When the Federal Government bailed out Wall Street all that was done was like applying band aids on an already hemorrhaging society. When in reality really did nothing to solve the crisis that failed policies from the last 25 years inflected upon the American Public. Still today our whole financial system reminds one of the Titanic. When the United States keeps borrowing trillions of dollars to keep America afloat. Remember the Debt Ceiling debacle? Contrary to what the Republicans constantly contend that the government has a spending crisis. We don't! When we take in account all the unfunded mandates that have been passed along to the American public since 1970, the mass exodus of millions and millions of middle wage jobs, the constant sharply increasing cost of living all have a direct result that America is in the middle of the worst income crisis in history. Sure, there are governmental agencies that need to be consolidated or scraped all together but the bottom line is the majority of Americans have the lowest disposable incomes ever. We don't have a governmental spending crisis as so many Republicans assert. What we actually have is a very real acute income crisis all across America.

When we look at the employment forecast the corresponding wages don't even come close to matching a living wage. 85% of all employment opportunities the corresponding wages equate to just a little above poverty levels. Only a small percentage of employment opportunities offer wages close to a living wage. The picture is even worse when one is laid off the responding job that is offered [that is if you are fortunate to land another job] is of lesser salary than the previous job. Instead of moving up the economic ladder most move down. Nowhere are there any responses to these scenarios.

The answers are not that elusive. They have been right before our eyes for years. But, like that old saying "If you want to hide something, hide it in plain sight" Now all we have to do is not be so blinded by the allure of wealth, all the rhetoric and the ego's of politicians that always seem to get in the way of common sense. When Teddy Roosevelt stated in 1901 " The great corporations which have grown to spent rather loosely as trust are creatures of the state, and the state not only has the right to control them whenever need of such control is shown but is in duty bound to control them." No president or any congress has followed TR's advise. Consequently today, what is occurring is unparallel corporate corruption, a disparity of wealth greater of any third World country, and a continued double digit unemployment rate. With the Supreme Court recent ruling on campaign finance makes the case for more political corruption that automatically follows.

To spur economic resurgence here and to effectively be able to ignite economic growth in Europe the United States must usher in National Economic Reform. Ten articles of confederation that encompass the contingencies that will effectively create the momentum needed for renewed economic growth. To continue the way we have been with only mundane band-aid fixes for the most acute ills that this country faces only prolongs the agony so many millions of Americas face each day. This election year is the best opportunity for the American public to rally behind an economic platform that ignites a sputtering economy.
