Liberal bloggers established online political activism, besting their conservative rivals during President George W. Bush's eight years in office. But conservatives are now finding great success 140 characters at a time. Even this week, the conservative organization Club For Growth promoted their Twitter account on their $1.2 million ad campaign against health care.

Even though President Obama and national Democrats use Twitter – the social micro blog that everyone from Ashton Kutcher and Shaquille O'Neal to Chuck Grassley and Newt Gingrich often use to directly speak to followers – Republicans have embraced the technology. And with major policy issues being debated and the midterm elections right around the corner, liberal bloggers acknowledge the GOP has the upper hand when it comes to using 140 character messages known as "tweets" to influence the discussion.

This is the Cynical Patriots Response:

Hello Democrats and Republicans.
...
Please take notice that that a paradigm shift has occurred / is occurring. The 2 major political parties no longer control the flow of information through the release of propaganda through complicit corporate major media outlets.

American Citizens are free to get different viewpoints, compare notes and make their own decisions.

The conservatives are not winning - THE TRUTH IS WINNING, AMERICAN CITIZENS ARE REDISCOVERING THE PIONEERING SPIRIT OF OUR FOUNDING FATHER'S AND REASSERTING THEIR LIBERTIES AND RIGHTS GUARANTEED TO THEM BY THE CONSTITUTION AND THE BILL OF RIGHTS.

Let us call this paradigm shift the TEA Party Renaissance.

The TEA Party Renaissance is re-awaking the Founding Father's Vision for America... It is educating the American Public of both of the two major political parties trespasses against the constitution and the bill of rights. It is laying bare to the Sovereign American Citizens the duplicity and breaches of the public trust committed by the politicians in both of the major political parties. And it is rekindling that "Can do", "we will make it happen" spirit and healthy distrust of government that caused the formation of this country and made it the greatest country on earth.

And whoever whined that they could not communicated their allegedly more complex thoughts in 144 characters, you are being disingenuous. Create a web page and link to it. Want to see how it is done follow me at http://twitter.com/dmashak

The Conservatives aren't winning? I disagree. Return to small government, lower taxes, principles in action, defend our borders, and self-responsibility. All Conservative principles. Sounds like how the majority of people now think. Am I wrong?

Hello Roger Cotton

Liberal and Conservative is subject to interpretation and issues defined thusly are used by politicians of both major political parties to divided and conquer us while they steal us blind.

If you label something conservative and the majority endorses it, it disenfranchises those who succumb to considering themselves liberals.

If an issue is instead resolved by being judged as the truth, there is less polarization.

From my perspective, the 2 major political parties both have succumbed to absolute greed and duplicity.  They no longer see themselves as public servants, but rather as witty Royalty that out fox us dim witted citizens they are charged with representing and protecting.  Google Jay Rockefeller and the internet... They are absolutely furious that they do not control the access to information as they did when only 3 or 4 big corporate media outlets controlled all of the information.  Senator Rockefeller is quoted as saying approximately, "Corporate and Government Propaganda would be more effective if the alternative media were forced to start using paper again"

Neither Party Represents we the people anymore. Right now, instead of a Constitutional Republic we have Government by the highest bidder.  The bidders just make the campaign contribution and/or bribe checks out to different folks depending on which party is in power? WE THE PEOPLE, fall for the ruse that everything has changed via the mini revolution of a change of political party in charge.

Please join us in a TEA Party Renaissance where WE THE PEOPLE realize that we are more alike than different.  Please think critically of the dynamics of the situation.  Rather than uniting us, the politicians are whipping us into a frenzy against each other. Nobody is persuaded if you just yell longer or louder.  Nobody is persuaded if they are forced to yield through force.

I submit to you that the real battle IS NOT Republican vs Democrat, Conservative vs Liberal, White vs Color nor Rich v poor, rather the true battle is WE THE PEOPLE vs Corrupt politicians.

Please take some time to reflect on what I have said, and let me know if we can find some common ground to go forward and restore our Country, Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Respectfully yours,

Don Mashak

"They are absolutely furious that they do not control the access to  information as they did when only 3 or 4 big corporate media outlets  controlled all of the information." ... They're working on ideas to totally consolidate control of the  internet too ... They have almost attained their goal. Any activist  who has  attempted to run a small site with an activists bent can  attest to such a  statement ... Most of the bigger guns will follow  (including NP) ...

Add to that equal rights for all, and you cover my core beliefs, but I have a hard time calling myself a conservative.  Because I believe D.A.D.T. , D.O.M.A. are examples of a minority exerting undue influence on the rest of us.

I believe that going to war for anything other than self defense is wrong, and the US has not met that requirement in a "war" since WWII, so, why do we keep doing it? Because there are people in Washington that make money off of wars, plain & simple.
