The 2008 Dividend Amount is $3,269.00

This amount includes the $1200.00 Alaska Resource Rebate.

And you only have to be a resident for one whole year! Wow! This is better than that measly $300 Bush gave us. And it's every year! Course it's taxable. Still.

You have to survive for a year.  Average is about three and down the road they go.

You're referring to Alaskan-wannabees, I presume. Surely you don't mean those who were born and raised there? I've lived in the Colorado high country for over 20 years, and I know it's tough to live in cold weather for a good part of the year. Alaska has many more challenges than that.

I don't think that goes very far, prices are a lot higher in Alaska. and as Fairbanks implies, there's a lot of stress just living there, or trying to survive. But it's a nice idea and great that the $$ comes from the oil revenues.

Just think if all the oil companies had to pay royalties to all citizens, maybe those CEOs (robber barons and kings) wouldn't take home such big booty and gain so much power.
