Julia Dahl
Detectives say that on the night Tyeisha was murdered, she dropped her daughter off at a friend's house. A witness reports seeing Tyeisha get into a car around 6:30 p.m.; police put the time of her death at several hours later.
Detectives want to know who she was with during that short period of time, and why her body was found 55 miles from her apartment. Investigators say this is a solvable case, and believe that someone other than the killer has the answers that can help them bring Tyeisha's family some justice.
HOUSTON -- Authorities are hoping a cash reward will lead them to the killer of a hurricane evacuee featured in a national magazine for teens. Tyeisha Cabrini Martin, 19, was found dead from a gunshot wound in a ditch in Needville near F.M. 361 and F.M. 1994 on March 9, 2006.Martin was the subject of a cover story for Seventeen magazine's December issue, in which reporters talked about surviving Hurricane Katrina. She was living in the Houston area with her 2-year-old daghter.
Investigators suspect an undisclosed amount of money might have been why she was killed, and said they are investigating leads and persons of interest in the case. Her killer remains on the run.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and the filing of charges in this case.
Anyone with information should call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281) 342-TIPS.

Is the reason Tyeisha stands out is because she was profiled in Seventeen magazine? I don't know what I do know is she would have been just another murdered black women to the Texas Ploice department if it hadn't been for Julia Dahl.
Thousands of evacuees, she began searching for a young woman to interview. That's when she spotted Tyeisha. She was beautiful. She should have been a model. She was tall and thin and had this gorgeous skin, big eyes, big lips, I mean she was stunning.
Tyeisha was hanging out with her sister Quiana when Julia approached Tyeisha, and asked if she could interview her for the magazine. Tyeisha said yes.
