Rice Grain Could Change Your Life
The tiny grain of rice may be able to change your life - and not for the better. Food costs are now becoming an international problem with rice leading the way. You heard it here on Now Public first: rice prices are causing an international problem....
From rice in Peru to miso in Japan, food prices are rising
By KATHERINE CORCORAN, Associated Press
MEXICO CITY — If you’re seeing your grocery bill go up, you’re not alone.
From subsistence farmers eating rice in Ecuador to gourmets feasting on escargot in France, consumers worldwide face rising food prices in what analysts call a perfect storm of conditions. Freak weather is a factor. But so are dramatic changes in the global economy, including higher oil prices, lower food reserves and growing consumer demand in China and India.
Planting crops for biofuels instead of food has caused a price spike, and foreign governments are moving to protect rice supplies. (Yusuf Ahmad/Reuters)

John E. Carey, I like this story. It's good stuff. As the world uses our Foodstuffs to power our cars, thus making food more expensive for export and consumption for the worlds hungry, this will ultimately starve them into Biblical proportions in our never ending Al Gore Fear Mongering as a Politically Correct Quest to reduce debatable science such as Global Warming, all at the expense of those whose empty stomachs whose Final Dying Thought is what's a Global Warming?

Another important factor is many of the farmerlands had been used for housing by the ever growing world population.

As well as the food increases nearly every essential utility is rising in the UK. Wages are pinned at approximately 2.5% but prices have risen over 25% in the last year.

It should be a criminal offence to divert food to biofuels, and I see this as one for the International Court in the Hague: this agflation could kill millions.

There needs to be proper dissemination of information domestically that the food crisis is an international phenomenon. But then again, if I was hungry, I would demand food on my table at a reasonable price.

Of course Jay, but you also have to admit burning life giving food as fuel is a waste when the hungry have neither
