Richard Antoun, a Binghamton University professor was involved in a stabbing today and he has died of his injuries.
Richard Antoun, a professor of emeritus of anthropology, was stabbed to death on campus, but it is not known why. Police said they do have a suspect in custody but have not released any names.
The University's Science 1 building is currently closed and will remain closed until midday tomorrow, although the part that is involved in the police investigation will still be closed for an unknown time.
The University President Lois B. DeFleur said:
DeFleur called the killing “an act of senseless violence,” and said the university would provide Antoun’s family “with as much assistance as we can in this time of sorrow.”
Counseling is being offered to all students and staff that feel they are affected by the professor's death.

religions that teach proselytization should be outlawed. They basically teach intolerance.

anyone who believes they are doing something good by harming another should be taken by the master creator and destroyed. any religion which teaches intolerance to others, persecution or degrading others is complete crap regardless.... the sad thing is ALL religions have done it.

You should look up words before you use them.

Very saddened by this news. Antoun taught many of us at Indiana University years ago, and he was a superb teacher and a gentle soul.

Now the jihadis are among us, plotting, planning and sharpening their daggers. What excuse will we give the killer, Al-Zahrani, this time: A deranged killer? An incident that has nothing to do with Islamic teaching? A good person who suddenly decided to do Mohammad's work in the name of the Ummah and conquest? Perhaps the left wingers will blame the victim or find fault with his views? It is time to identify the enemy and make sure that Islam does not poison the minds of young people. It is time to better screen those from Islamic countries who want to work as jihadis - producing death and destruction in the name of their beliefs.

You guys are morons. This guy taught hundreds if not thousands of Muslim student, it was a middle aged man who stabbed a professor to death. Did you guys scream Christianity when all those teenagers shot up people at their schools in the past few years?. I find it funny that when a muslim man does something it's the teaching of his religion, but when someone belonging to a different faith does it it's just someone acting irrational.
