Remarks of an Israeli General who recommended Turkish prime minister to look at himself in the mirror fired a harsh backlash from Turkish government, the Turkish Hurryet newspaper says. The Israeli general referred to Turkish massacre of Armenians and suppression of Kurds in Turkey and recommended the Turk prime minister to avoid criticizing Israel for attacking civilians in Gaza while having this precedent.

Turkish foreign ministry summoned the Israeli ambassador in Ankara and handed over to him a diplomatic note. The note indicates that the general’s statement “is in an extent that could harm the bilateral relations.”

At another statement the Turkish Army asked the Israeli Army to clarify this message from general Mizrahi.
