The situation in Lebanon is unfolding so fast, hearing and seeing the reports live, takes us back 23 years.. the time of the Lebanese civil war.. I hope history does not repeats itself in Lebanon, as they do have a horrible history in that.

Who is that in the robes and beard? Sadr's brother? cousin?
at 15:25 on May 9th, 2008
Hi Rene, the one in the robes with beared is the head of Hezbollah party, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who is also the head of the opposition in Lebanon. He is currently the most powerful man in Lebanon, and his resistance party Hezbollah, is the most powerful group in Lebanon. His Hezbollah fighters were the only power in the arab world who were able to defeat Israel in June 2006 war, while all the arab regular armies combined could not defeat Israel in any of their wars togather.

I just want to say that this is an AFP picture. I'm a journalist in Beirut at www.lorientlejour.com
and our offices are located in downtown Beirut, not far from the place where the fightings took place.
