Right wing Saudi dynasty endorses right wing FOX News dynasty
This week, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal al-Saud of Saudi Arabia — the largest shareholder of News Corp outside the Murdoch family — endorsed Rupert Murdoch’s son James to succeed the elder Murdoch when he retires. Alwaleed, King Abdullah’s nephew, is Saudi Arabia’s richest person and the world’s 22nd wealthiest (Murdoch is number 132). He holds large stakes in many American companies, including Citi. The prince met with Murdoch last week to discuss a “future potential alliance with News Corp,... Right-wing Saudi dynasty endorses right-wing Fox News dynasty.
Now normally I'd say there is nothing inherently (no pun intended), wrong with a majority shareholder in a corporation endorsing a possible successor to head a large company like News Corp. However, in light of this weeks US Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. FEC, it will now be possible for foreign investors that hold large positions in US corporations to influence and spend corporate money on US elections. I'm not sure if FOX is a US corporation, but is most certainly the case that Citi is a US corporation.

Regardless of political stripe, the Supreme Court ruling yesterday should alarm all who believe in democracy.

"Corporations should not influence outcomes of elections, based on special interests."
A well known fact! It's unfortunate that hardly anyone is listening or acting.

And it is highly unlikely to expect any change from Congress. With the exception of Alan Grayson from Florida, no one is talking about reigning in special interest influence. Just think of all the added cash that will flow into the pockets of elected, and now bought and paid for, representatives.

Obviously we have headed backwards to arrive at the type of aristocracy we attempted to evade through the American Revolution.
What a waste! What a shame.... all for nothing!

Not to worry. Once we descend to third world status, we simply nationalize all the foreign owned companies.

Rupert Murdoch is not an advocate for a conservative free market, he just abuses it. It makes Ike and Tina look like arm wrestling, it's that bad. I wish they would impose anti-trust laws on his corporation. Dude should just be sterilized. It's bad enough he already reproduced.
