Embattled RNC head Michael Steele indirectly responded to the call for his resignation as he guest-hosted Bill Bennett’s conservative talk radio program "Morning in America."

A caller said to Steele, “I hope that Paul Bagalla and Emanuel and Carville don’t convince you to resign your position.” Steele responded, “Not me baby!“ He also said, It’s been a good week, it’s been an instructive week."

Michael Steele did not mention, however, that part of his "good week" included
losing his blog, steeleforchairman.com, which now redirects to GOP.com.

The "call for his resignation" was from someone talking about democrat operatives. Has someone in the Republican party called for his resignation?

What was "losing his blog" about? The old blog's name is clearly a reference to his candidacy and now, being the chairmen of the GOP, it is natural that the redirect should occur.

Actually RNC member Dr. Ada Fisher has called for Michael Steele to resign, surprised you didn't know that Roy, you seem to be up on the GOP.

BTW not one Democratic operative has ever even suggested that Steele step down.  I suspect Democrats would love for Steele and Limbaugh to remain in the center spotlight, along with Sarah "I don't know what magazines I read" Palin and Bobby "Speech maker" Jindal.

Michael Steele was still using SteeleforChairman.com as his blog up until very recently, here is a Google search, which you will see the word BLOG as one of the sub-categories.

Thanks for the clarification. I was going to look for more stuff, but I never got around to it. I like your points but I still wonder if that was "punishment", the blog thing, or not.

Limbaugh is a problem because he is the voice of a Reagan republican that can see no evil on his side and is angry enough not to care.

Much of his rhetoric of late has been against so-called "moderates" and I get sick of not hearing him interview anyone who might disagree with him.

The real reason that the republicans ended up with McCain is that the combination of evangelical right and free trade right nixed Romney on his religion and the border and Giuliani on his religion and the border. So the only one standing was McCain, not a good choice.

Romney was versed enough in economics to contribute and Giuliani may alienate some, but he has competency from being mayor that made him the most qualified republican.

Steele is a good man and may be designed to bring the party into a new era. I think that we need a good version of both parties to get anywhere. When one party is over-triumphant it means no real oppostion to possible excesses by that party.

Clinton with a republican congress was a good deal, politically.

Now, Jindal is a good governor who freaked on having to suddenly be the spokesperson of the Republican party.

I think you may be too generous by calling Michael Steele a "good man."

The term "perpetual failure" may be more accurate. He dropped out of priesthood, failed the Maryland Bar, nearly lost his house when he started a private consulting firm and is currently under investigation for paying his sister with GOP funds for work she may have never done.

Guliani is competent?  Much of his mayoral staff was indicted, he built command central in the biggest terrorist target in New York City, the Twin Towers, and he is despised by the New York City Fire Fighters union for failing to equip them with working radios and other equipment that could have saved lives on 9/11.

On the purely evil side, Rudy Guliani used 9/11 as part of marketing material for his private consulting firm.  Imagine FDR using Pearl Harbor to make a buck?  They would have hung him and his wheelchair.

I agree, TheCameraObscura, that most Democrats probably would LOVE for Mr. Steele to remain as RNC chairman.

Dr. Fisher listed, in an e mail referenced in this article, among her issues with RNC chairman Michael Steele:

"I don't want to hear anymore [sic] language trying to be cool about the bling in the stimulus package or appealing to D.L. Hughley and blacks in a way that isn't going to win us any votes and makes us frankly appear to many blacks as quite foolish," Fisher wrote.
