It ain't that bad. I've lived here for 12 years and no one's shot at me (yet). But that's because I live only 5 mins. from work. Yee-haw !

I was on the scene shortly after this happened, covering the story. I shot the photos you see on here and around the web and on tv.  I just wanted to set a few things straight.  It was not a case of random road rage or a gang meeting gone wrong.  It was a chase through town that ended in the city hall parking lot.  An SUV chased a small car and purposefully rammed it over and over, injuring the men and women inside.  Followed by a fist fight in the street, gunshots, and two people being run over on purpose.  Throw in about 30 witnesses during broad daylight and you have wuite a bit of kaos!  Visit www.gonzalesinquirer.com for more updated information and photos.  Be safe out there!

I am curious as to how the police had the one vehicle surrounded, yet the person was able to get away?  Hopefully they catch him and they all stay in prison for a long time.

This entire incident happened because the police department here doesnt have the guts to make a real impact on crime. They knew years ago about this rivalry and that drug dealers and thugs had moved into our formaly quaint and quiet community and did nothing.  The news paper here prints a police blotter and lists whenever someone gets arrested It proves that the police here are only interested in the most petty of crimes, such as the arrest of a woman because her dog got out of the yard and she didn't pay the ticket in a timly manner, or a 15 year old had a smart mouth or that Simon C. was again arrested for Public intoxication ( Simon has been arrested at least once a week for the last 3 years for PI)  None of these people were ever any real treat to anyone  Then the police here brag and act as if they have done so much to protect the citizens and uphold the law.  Hey Gonzales PD Grow a spine and a Brain and get real!
