Rob Wilson, Member of Parliament for Reading East, took part in the Community Service Volunteers’ ‘Make a Difference Day’ on Friday, volunteering his time to help in the Barnardo's charity shop on Wokingham Road.

The CVS ‘Make a Difference Day’ is the UK’s biggest annual day of volunteering action, with over 100,000 people volunteering a day of their time to take part in community projects. During his time at the shop Rob rolled up his sleeves to work alongside staff and volunteers, sorting items and serving customers.

Rob said, “Barnado’s does a fantastic job helping the most vulnerable children and young people to transform their lives and fulfil their potential and it is only through the hard work of volunteers who give many hours of their time that this can be achieved.”

“I came here last year for the ‘Make a Difference Day’ and it was fantastic to be back with the charity shop team. I had a lot of fun while contributing to a worthy cause and would encourage my Reading East constituents to get involved.”
