Rob Wilson urges constituents to take part in the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ for Macmillan
23rd September 2008
Reading East MP, Rob Wilson, is encouraging local people to take part in Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
Coffee mornings are taking place across the Reading East constituency on Thursday and Friday, and Rob will be joining with parents and friends of Woodley C of E primary school in Woodley to drink coffee, share cakes and chat to raise money for Macmillan and raise awareness – some children at the school have made small craft items to sell on the day.
Rob said, “In the UK today 1 in 3 people are affected by cancer. I know that many of my constituents have personal experiences of the problems a cancer diagnosis can bring to both patients and their family. Macmillan cancer support is there for people from the moment they are diagnosed, with really practical help and support.”
“Holding a coffee morning is an easy way to make sure Macmillan has the money to continue its vital work and I hope lots of coffee gets brewed in my constituency this Thursday and Friday!”
Rob’s favourite coffee is: A rich, full bodied Café Americano
Rob thinks the best to eat with a coffee is: Handmade, buttery and cinnamon shortbread
