Robert Novak Suspends Journalistic Work Indefinitely

UpDate: August 4, 2008 Robert Novaks diagnosis is poor and had retired from journalism.
Robert Novak, hard hitting Conservative journalist and commentator who was called. "the Prince of Darkness", Best known for his CNN shows, Crossfire, The Capital Gang, and Evans, Novak, Hunt, and Shields, will be suspending journalistic work indefinitely. Novak issued the following statement:
“On Sunday, July 27, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I have been admitted to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where doctors will soon begin appropriate treatment. “I will be suspending my journalistic work for an indefinite but, God willing, not too lengthy period."
Novak is suspending the longest running sindicated Column in Newspaper history. turned 45 this year. The reason he was called the, Prince of Darkness" was him memoirs puplished in 2007 was so tittled.

Robert Novak was admitted yesterday to a Boston hospital where he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Novak is the long-time editor of the influential newsletter, Evans-Novak Political Report, published by Human Events’ parent company, Eagle Publishing. Novak is also a well-known columnist for the Chicago Sun Times and more recently a Fox News Channel contributor. The 77-year-old Novak recently celebrated his 50th year as a Washington-based journalist.

Chicago Sun-Times columnist Robert Novak said today he has been diagnosed with a brain tumor but says that, “God willing,” he plans to be back at work soon.
Novak said he was diagnosed Sunday with a tumor and will soon begin treatment at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
Novak is alert and talking — he wrote the statement announcing his illness — but in intensive care, where the hospital does not allow phone calls or flowers, according to his assistant, Kathleen Connolly.
"He's talking,'' Connolly said. "He seemed fine."
The diagnosis was sudden. Novak became ill Sunday during a family outing near Cape Cod, Mass. A family member called 911, and he was brought by ambulance to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where the diagnosis was made.

Thanks Miami Press. Those who didn't see it in the article, Mpress broke the story on NowPublic. He focused on the Huffington Post reaction. We descided to allow mine to stand as I took a different angle. As most Conservative are praying for Ted Kennedy to recover, some folks are remarking how wonderful it is that Novak is ill. These ar not normal democrats who wish no harm on anyone. But if anyone on NP wished a Tumor on Kennedy many of us would attack that attitude. There is a difference between a journalistic based News service like NowPublic and the DailyKos or the Right wing Blogs like the Free Republic. NP has no flaoming which is one of the reasons I love it here.

Lol, funny reply but not well thought through, Sam. I thought the same thing at first. He could have easily been examined following what had happened in his accident and a tumor had been found. There is a number of other possibilities including him blacking out for a bit since he didn't seem to remember the accident. I think it was a valid question and thanks for asking it.

You Know, I was going to comment on that once I came home from VBS. I wondered whether the accident could have been a result of the tumor, rather then a tumor comning from the accident. It is common for accidents to occur due to a brain injury. I was going to do some investigation on whether he went to the hospital because of some issue like an auto accident. I will report back on this

Sad. But let's not deify the guy. He is a nasty piece of work who earned the name "Novakula" because of his ruthlessness nature. Novak happily shredded the reputations of others as a partisan hack.
Novak took pride in his outing covert CIA officer Valerie Plame as part of the Republican game to hurt Plame's husband for revealing Bush administration lies about Iraqi attempts to purchase nuclear materials in Niger. Revealing Plame's identity destroyed her work to investigate Iranian attempts at gaining nuclear technology. Novak was all too happy to be a part of the Rove mafia.
As a human being he should be given our sympathies. But he lost all claims on the title of journalism by embracing the worst elements of the profession in hope of personal and political gain. Further, as an American, he should be deeply ashamed that he helped America's enemies by ruining ongoing sensitive covert operations that were being run by the CIA through a shell company for which Plame worked. Once her cover was blown, foreign governments quickly backtracked all of Plames international travel records and links to foreign nationals. One can only wonder how many people may have seen their lives put in jeopardy.
Seriously, the only reason to blow the cover of an operative is if they are committing treasonous or highly immoral, criminal acts. Outing one for simple politics is disgusting.
