Roberto Carlos Magalhaes - Man Stuck 50 Needles In Young Boy
Gessivald Alves, the ex-stepfater of the boy who was admitted the the a Brazillian hospital after having over 50 sewing needles injected into his body has confessed to the crime.
Gessivaldo Alves stuck the needles into his then stepson because he believed he could have been a victim of a black magic ritual. The injection of needles was to purify the young boy and counteract the the black magic curse upon him.
The boys mother and father, Maria Souza Santos and Gessivaldo Alves, said that they suspected Mr. Magalhaes of being involved with Black Magic. She was quoted as saying, "My son didn't like to go out with Roberto. I didn't think he was capable of doing something bad to him."
X-rays taken by doctors, and shown on Brazil's Globo news network's website, clearly show dozens of needles deep in his body, some clustered near his lungs and others in his abdomen, neck and legs.
Surgeons had planned to operate on the boy but cancelled the surgery after deciding it was too dangerous, Dr Fabio Contelle at the hospital in Barreiras town said in an interview with Globo TV. The boy was moved to Barreiras from the smaller hospital in Ibotirama after doctors realized the seriousness of his condition.

So disgusted I feel literally sick! (not verified)at 04:15 on December 18th, 2009
I am so sickened by this. This is nothing short of TORTURE. A helpless defenseless baby, being held down and tortured by three people for weeks. I do not wish for this "stepfather" to die. It would be much to easy that way. I say he should be tortured, and have the same thing done slowly over a long period of time. What a SICK SICK SICK individual. Some one needs to get their hands on him. Hes a maggot.

I have a son that age, and he is so aware of the world, so in tune with people's emotions. I can only imagine his confusion and terror at being subjected to this torture by someone he should have been able to trust. I'd like to adopt that boy, and show him what a loving family is like.

Get your facts straight, as your article is implicating the wrong man even though your own story contradicts itself. Poor poor journalism. Roberto Carlos Magalhaes was the man who did this awful crime, not Gessivald Alves. When you are dealing with something this sensitive, make sure you get it right. Poor effort on your part Gordon Clark, poor effort. Give your head shake.
