Rodney King is Marrying One of the Jurors From His Trial For His 1991 Beating - Cynthia Kelley

Radar Online reports that King proposed to Cynthia Kelley, who was juror number 5, only recently but is very happy about their upcoming life together.

"She is a godsend, a blessing in my life," King told RadarOnline.com.

"I don't know what I would have done without her in my life... I can't wait to make her my wife!"

Kelley was one of the jurors who awarded King a $3.8 million settlement from the Los Angeles police department after he was beaten up by four white police officers in the San Fernando Valley.

When the men were acquitted in 1992, race riots exploded across the city and 55 people were killed while 2,000 more were injured.

When King was in court, both he and Kelley were married, but their first date was the day after the trial ended when King and his lawyer met Kelley in Newport Beach for pizza.

They did not last however, as they broke up when King went on the show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew and only spoke again in May 2010.

"We hadn't spoken to each other for many years, and it just so happened that we reconnected," Kelley told us.

"It was like we were never apart from one another."

Kelley says that she kept quiet about their relationship to avoid media attention, but did reveal that the other jurors in the case did not want to award King anything, or just give him the much smaller sum of $100,000.

No date for the wedding has yet been set.
