There Are Reports That Rodrick Shante Dantzler Is Dead After Killing 7 People in Grand Rapids, Michigan

The Grand Rapids Michigan hostage situation appears to be at an end as there are reports that Rodrick Shante Dantzler is dead.

Shantzler is believed to have killed seven people in two separate shootings in Grand Rapids, Michigan: three at 2046 Plainfield Avenue NE and four at a house on the 1270 Brynell Court. Police believe Rodrick Shonte Dantzler is responsible for all of the killings.

At around 11:30 Eastern time, it was reported that Rodrick Dantzler committed suicide.

Reuters has reported via Twitter: "Suspect down. Self-inflicted gunshot wound. Two remaining hostages released, being secured by police."

Police have yet to reveal a motive for the Grand Rapids killings. It has been suggested that Rodrick Dantzler suffers from bipolar disorder and recently stopped taking his medication.

It's a shame he didn't just take his own life first.  He did save the bleeding heart justice system and the tax payers for the next 30 years - unlike prior incarceration.  But he did not need to take seven lives first.
