A dozen deserving Melville businesspeople and community volunteers were honoured last week at the Rotary Community and Business Service Awards. The awards presentation, which drew about 120 Rotarians, partners and guests to the South of Perth Yacht Club, took the place of our regular Club meeting.

Assistant Governor Llew Withers reports:

“It was an excellent evening with fine food, great networking and showcasing the good work of Rotary to our community. The evening was well planned by the four Rotary clubs involved, the MC Ian Pittaway provided a very friendly but well orchestrated management of proceedings with an excellent contribution by PDG John Kevan representing our District Governor Zaki Dorkham.

“Contributions by our four presidents added a measure of refinement to proceedings, with each speaker adding some individual aura to the evening.

“In a nutshell, a great evening show casing the work of Rotary and an early closure by 9pm.”
