Rotten Tomatoes In Washington
Yes, my fellow Americans there is something that really stinks in Washington. These past couple of weeks our nations capital has been the center of political posturing by the Republicans in a converted attempt to discredit the White House in a number of instances. Fist, there is an ongoing blatant attack on the President's and former Secretary of State's handling of the attack in Benghazi. And, yet all these Republicans can some up with are character attacks on events that have already happened. As that old saying goes "What is the sense of crying over spilled milk." Hindsight is a good indicator of how to prevent a similar scenario from happening again, but not like the tone that is permeating from Washington today. In all practicality the Republicans are obsessed with undermining the White House and the Former Secretary of State. This is just one instance that smells of rotten tomatoes. Of all the under handed, unethical, and discourteous maneuvers by the Republican led Congress to systematically reduce the President's ability to bridge the bipartisan gap this one instance is setting a very disturbing tone for things to come. When the President is attempting to narrow that ever widening bipartisan gap along comes another assault on the White House.
Need we remind these power brokers of political expediency of the dire consequences of not addressing the continued economic crisis we have in this country. This in light of the fact that almost one third of our citizens ages 18-34 are either unemployed and under employed. In just the past few years the United States has jumped to lead the industrialized world in the highest percentage of unemployed workers. A distinction we can ill afford to ignore. Yet, there again our Republican congress continues to be oblivious to the true nature of this nations plight.
Using slight of hand and smoke and mirrors tactics covering up their true intentions meanwhile the bedrock's of this nation ore crumbling within. The tunnel vision mentality of late keeps most Republicans unaware of the compromises and solutions that would enable the majority of citizens to prosper and secure this nations future. But, here in Washington we are in the midst of not a power struggle, though it may seem that way, but what many fear but won't put in print is most Republicans are using the fact that race matters when one is in the White House. They can deny it all they want, but never before have we had this much animosity and convergence of political stalemate in our nations capital.
If we read in between the lines we come away with the realization that a carefully orchestrated plan of deception is at play. Take the IRS targeting Tea Party loyalists and other very conservative persons. Another red flag that smells of rotten tomatoes arises. This time by the Republicans putting the blame on the Democrats when it just possible it could be the Republicans themselves using deceit and deception that are using the IRS as ploys to again discredit the White House. So sneaky, with stealth like ability these Republicans are showing those of us that are really paying attention that they will stoop to the lowest common denominator to achieve their diabolical ends.
This in just the past few days even in state houses across the country Republicans to but it bluntly are full of themselves. Take Florida for instance, the Republican led state house voted not to accept the Presidents funding for healthcare for the poor when those most benevolent leaders of state only pay $8.00 per month for their health care coverage. That money by the way comes from the exuberant salary they already make through our own taxes. In essence, it is basically free. Now the poor, the destitute, the feeble, and the hungry, well let's just say healthcare for them like everyone else continues to be almost impossible to obtain.
Granted the Affordable Healthcare Act of 2010 was a step in the right direction but it did stop short of what the late Senator Kennedy was trying to accomplish. That was comprehensive Universal Health Care coverage, a single payer plan for every American. Still in light of the Affordable Health Care passage it has been under assault ever since. The fever pitch pressure put forth by the Republicans have continually thwarted the full measure of it's implementation in state after state.
The my way or the highway mentality displayed by these Republican power players have continued to derail any attempt to rectify the major issues that are keeping the majority of Americans to have the availability and the ability to climb up that economic mobility ladder. Only through diligence to find common ground and compromise keeping in mind that we are all brothers of man can the United States rise up from all the distractions that have undermined our nations ability to secure our future.
