Rudy Guede Remains in Prison for Murdering Meredith Kercher

In the aftermath of the Amanda Knox appeal verdict, a few people on Twitter are asking, 'who killed Meredith Kercher?' The acquittal of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito does not mean that the case is reopened. Remember that Rudy Guede had already been convicted of murdering Meredith Kercher in 2008.

Rudy Guede was connected to Meredith Kercher's murder via forensic evidence, and he had fled Perugia after her body was discovered. Originally sentenced to 30 years, Guede's prison term was shortened to 16 years on appeal.

At issue, in the court's eyes, was not whether or not Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito murdered Meredith Kercher in Rudy Guede's stead, but whether they were co-conspirators.

I'm prepared to accept the verdict, after all, the forensic evidence was slim to say the least but the British public were appalled at the 'cartwheels' and eccentric behaviour as Knox waited to be questioned. This peculiar group of pot smoking hedonists leave many unanswered questions as to what happened. I can only feel pity for poor Meredith's family at this time. Some of the celebrity tweets in the US and talks about 'Book deals' and TV movies make me just feel sick.

If Knox and Sollecito walk then so does Guede. His conviction is predicated on that of AK and RS in fact the evidence against Knox is more compelling. Racism is the elephant in the room: white educated middle class and attractive to look at Knox and Sollecito pitched against black working class dishevelled Guede, well, the guy had no chance and the people of Perugia know it from their reaction outside the court room. The one lesson learned is that the American and Italian judicial systems along with the western media are racist but then we knew that all along didn't we?

Rudy Guede's DNA was ALL OVER THE CRIME SCENE. He had sex with Meredith Kercher, his bloody hand and finger prints were all over Meredith and all over her room. He fled the country after hearing about her murder on the news. He originally stated he was there and that Amanda Knox and Rafael were NOT THERE. He stated that he went to the bathroom after having sex with Meredith and found a man standing over her, and that she was dead. He stated he didn't hear her murder because he was wearing ipod headphones! THEN after receiveing a plea deal with the prosecution, he suddenly stated that Amanda and Rafael were there and that Amanda encouraged them to kill Meredith. MIND YOU THERE IS NO DNA evidence supporting Amanda's presence at the murder. The DNA evidence against Rafael has been dismissed. SO this is not the case of a black guy taking the hit (which of course does happen all the time, is awful, and is a flaw in our system), Rudy is guilty of murder.

Thank you for your measured and rational response, Kate.  There is conclusive evidence that Guede murdered Kercher.  His DNA was found in abundance on and inside her body.  He placed himself at the scene of the crime during the murder.  He claimed that he spoke to Meredith the night before and set up a date with her for the night of her murder, while her friends who were with her that night deny that he and Meredith ever spoke.  His bloody handprint was found under her body.  He fled the country immediately after the murder, showing consciousness of guilt.   He pointed the finger at Amanda Knox and her boyfriend only to win favor with the prosecution, after initially denying that they were there.  He had previously shown a propensity for robbery and burglary.  (It appears, based on the break-in and the fact that Meredith's money and cell phones were stolen and the scene ransacked, that this originated as a break-in and burglary.)  Moreover, this was a sexually motivated murder, and it is extremely unlikely that this type of crime involved any kind of elaborate conspiracy.  Certainly, black men are often made the scapegoat, but in this case a black man is actually, in fact, guilty as sin.  One shouldn't put blinders on just because of his race.

Well said, Tom.

Near the end of the movie "National Treasure," Harvey Keitel's character, a federal agent assigned to recover the Declaration of Independence, slowly shakes his head and says, "Somebody's gotta go to jail."  As those of us in the U.S. are sadly aware, it's way too often the one with the darkest skin who ends up behind bars.  Mr Guede may well be guilty - of something. Bbut I don't believe for a minute that Knox and Sollecito are innocent of everything

Spot on Chevale!  As a black male born and living in the UK I see one thing most of you in the US do not - that Italy have handled this case differently so as not to upset the US!  Far easier for them to throw the book at the black man as they know they'll suffer no real backlash from the Ivory Coast (where Guede happens to be from).

I agree with the previous assessment.  Race is and has played a big role in all of this.  Once again we see the person of color on the wrong end of the stick (justice?)  American media is just as much at fault as the justice system in Italy.  Why should he (R. Guede) be serving any time , when A.Knox gets to walk free.

they stated that the forensic evidence regarding Knox and Italian boy were contaminated, Ok then it is the same crime sciene then Guede's story does make sense. After he came out of the bathroom he shocked to see the horrofic sciene, the guy is on 20 at the time he reacted naturally innocently and he might tried to help her for real, also she might have told him to run for a reason that only by questionig Guede answer would be reveiled at least for the court stisfactory. Guede have been denied appeal twice the could just have to listin to him. Guede Scrifice Sheep, 2011.

you are a moronhe was granted an appeal and his prison sentence was reduced to 16 yearsdid he ejaculate semen on Meredith and leave his DNA in her while trying to help her?you are defending a man who violently raped and murdered an innocent girl. He cut her throat and stabbed her many times and you are defending him. You need help dude

You're a racist for just making it about race.

Just another racial setback for blacks. Why is the black guy still in jail. If he had some money and was white he would be free. Those two people had some part in it or know something about it.They just got away with it. Justice was not served at all and I feel sorry for the parents of Kercher because they still dont know the truth, but black people deal with this kind of injustice on a daily basis.

You cannot be serious.  This guy was a known drug dealer who was arrested several times.  Do you know how they were able to identify his bloody hand print on Kercher's pillow?  It was because they had his prints on file from a previous arrest in which he attempted to steal...are you ready for this...a knife.  Why would you steal a knife from a random person?  You wouldn't, unless you were a criminal who planned to kill someone with a knife and didn't want it traced back to you.  And again, just so there is no confusion.  The guy left a bloody hand print on a pillow in Kercher's bedroom!  His DNA was all over the place.  These other two were innocent.  Just because their white doesn't mean they don't deserve to go free for a crime they didn't commit.

Areyoukiddingme, "These other two were innocent." Do you know the first thing Knox did when the Police swooped on her?  She pointed the finger at a local Congolese bar owner (Patrick Lumumba), saying HE killed Meredith Kerscher! The bar owner was promptly arrested and was only saved by an aliby....a Swiss businessman whom he had been socialising with at the time of the murder!  Lumumba has since said that Knox has ruined his life with her evil and savage lies! If Knox is so "inncoent" then why did she blatantly lie??  And if that is what you refer to as "innocent" then I suggest you refer to the dictionary to see what the word really means!

Actually you are wrong about this.  It is public record (and even admitted on italian police reports) that it was the police who brought up the bar owner.  NOT Amanda.  Hairs belonging to a black person were found at the scene before the DNA results were in so they knew they were looking for a black man.  The bar owner was the only black man Amanda was regularly in contact with and on that night she had texted him "ci vediamo" which means "see ya" or "see you later" in Italian.  Now in English (at least in America) See ya later just means goodbye.  It does not necessarily mean that we are going to meet later tonight.  But in Italian see you later literally means see you later.  So the police insisted to Amanda that she meant "see you later so we can murder meredith"... and hounded her for hours in an interrogation room until she agreed to implicate lumumba the bar own that THEY the police insisted she was trying to protect.  She finally broke down after MANY hours of saying no you're wrong and finally agreed to connect lumumba to the crime.  By the way- every single DNA expert and investigative reporter in the UK that has looked into the documents of this trial all agree that the American Amanda and her Italian boyfriend are 100% innocent of the crime and that the police basically tried to manipulate evidence to convict these two innocent people.

If Africans feel that Europe is against them because of the colour of their skin, then why do they still come over to live in Europe..There is more injustice shown to black people by their own governments in Africa than there is in Europe. My advise to my fellow Africans is to put your own house in order before you start critisizing Europeans. ,

Wow..i can not believe its still here racist people..so what if the black  guy didnt have money if all was involved than all should be freed.  What kind of world do we live in..Benanafo be serious now your banding us people of color from Europe im of mixed race and i love to travel.  Justice and being equal should be every where.  I hate that we still have to go through this kind of stuff...Italy should be ashamed that now this will start trouble all across the globe. I just pray that who ever did this come clean and let the kercher family have some peace of mind...

That bloody black bastard is as guilty as hell!!!...Thank God the Italian Court is small to rule out AK & RS.  Pity some of you who cannot weigh evidence and truth.

I cannot believe there are so many ignorant people out there this is an open and shut case of a fiend called Rudy Guede. His race or colour has nothing to do with the demented mind of this a cold blooded rapist and killer. Based on the overwealming evidence you to be stupid to think otherwise.

Iruwa

Stupid is that the word of the day? You need a reality check; people of colour have always had to take the RAP, It is believable that a person of colour did the dastardly deed, how could a white person, educated to say the least commit such a horrific crime?   It has not changed (one step forward and two steps backward.)  Will it change I doubt it? My heart goes out to Meredith’s family. Meredith REST IN PEACE.

I still think they were all involved. Rudy might've said later (where he didn't in the first instance) that Knox and her ex were involved not because of the Plea Bargain but because they might have had an agreement beforehand never to tell the truth of what happened that night. When he saw that he was going to take the rap all by himself, he might've thought to mention the truth. I look at Knox and in her eyes I see the same absence of humanity that most serial killers' pictures display. A lack of emotion. Also, I read every report and the full history and it was mentioned that Knox took a shower when she came home (where she said she stayed at her boyfriends' all night) - she didn't smell Rudy's poop in the toilet or see the blood stains? Also, NO DNA of her or her boyfriend was found (in the bathroom?) - UHM, suspicious - they must've wiped it!

It is a race issue because race is involved, and the history of the world (not just the Ivory Coast and Europe) is black persecution. I saw some Africans posted on here.  Please stop it.  You love white skin-when you bring home a white bride from America, you are celebrities in your towns.  We have all been brainwashed by our history and so we take sides based on what we see.  The fact of the matter is a woman died, and for no reason. This is why I weep. Millions have died for no reason.  Laws have been created to favor one group over another to try to make up for injustices all over the world. They only alienate other groups, and create hostility. Knowing you have a choice to turn a blind eye, you choose to use your time pondering the laws, when you should be thinking about who administers the laws.  Blind yourself to foolishness, don't get caught up in other people's messes and make sure your child does not end up like any of those mentioned in this case. Stick to the laws of man if you wish, but they are only words created to confuse the ignorant, and assist the educated so that crimes like this can remain saturated and full of questions.  The law of God is universal, and it has been broken first with the murder, lies and cover ups and now with man judging man.

@ Jesi, yes! Finally, someone mentions what I've been thinking. That girl isn't all there. She resembles a sociopath. Her family did what any family would have done, and yes being white and with access to money they were able to sway the media in theirdirection. However, the laws of consequence does not adhere to human judicial systems. So, if in fact she is guilty, time will surely tell.

Umm.. How did Guede know Kercher??..He claims that he was there for a date with her..Does that make any sense to you.. Nobody is answering that question..Did she meet him on the internet.. ?? Seriously..The whole story of Guede dating Kercher is shabby and points to him.. Who listens to their I Pod on the toilet..while taking a break from a hot date ??Makes no sense..He did it and he only made up that stuff about the date because he know they would find his DNA there and he needed some sort of lie/alibi to get away with it. He was probably on drugs that night.Has nothing to do with RACE .. facts are facts..Amanda was not there.. she was having sex with Sollecito but she didn't want anyone to know so she lied at first making her seem guilty. Her lie backlashed on her in the wrong way..She and Sollecito are innocent!!I think Guede broke into the house with the intention of robbery because it seemed empty. But then Kercher came home. When he heard her, he hid in the room where the glass was broken and that he was rummaging through/stealing. After she went to bed he came out of that room and went into her room where he attacked and killed her.. Probably because she might hear him leaving the house and he didn't want anyone to be able to incriminate him..Or maybe she did hear him and came out to see who it was and he killed her.. Or he could have broken into the house while she was there sleeping thinking no one was there as it was dark..However the facts still point to him..It is no rocket science !!..

It is in my personal opinion (after reading 3 books about this case) along with all the internet articles and media hype that I've seen, I believe that Giuliano Mignini has AK and RS nailed and he KNOWS what really happened. I have seen the lifetime movie and I believe that's EXACTLY how it happened, the differences between AK and RS and Rudy Guede were that AK and RS wore surgical gloves since his dad was a urologist I'm sure he had very easy access. AK and RS slashed Meredith very very quickly and were dressed up since it was on halloween night no one could recognize them... and after Rudy fled the scene AK and RS went BACK to the apartment to "CLEAN UP" that's why all the evidence was only limited to Meredith's bedroom and the bathroom. The victim had 43 bruises and lacerations on her body. One person could not inflict that much bodily injury without having an accomplice or two and they had to be SUPER MAD at someone to do that to someone. If AK and RS happened to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol it may have caused some sort of cataclysmic eruption of "rape" fantasies and "new experiences" and that's just what they did. After I read 3 books not one of them said that there was ANY sperm inside the victim's body WHATSOEVER. The cell phones were found in a random garden near the flat which AK wrote about in her myspace blog. RS had a picture on his myspace of him holding a bottle of bleach and a meat clever. I think that we all really know what happened there has just been an injustice done. I think the crime scene was staged and the break in through that IMPOSSIBLE to crawl through window was broken from the inside of the cottage. There was one knife used to "knick" the victim and one knife (flick knife) used to stab her in the throat. The prosecution tried to say that the "knick" knife was the murder weapon which was clearly incorrect. The evidence to this case was not collected properly which put the prosecution to may disadvantages. There are several ways to get away with murder and AK and RS succeeded at this because there was no "smoking gun" and now poor Meredith's family is suffering even more now than ever because they still don't know what really happened to their youngest daughter and that's a real shame. Giuliano Mignini is making the right decision by taking this to Italy's supreme court. An innocent person doesn't change their stories multiple times and lie to the police over and over and imagine scenarios. That's a crock of shit if you asked me. Patrick Diya Lumumba had to sit in jail for nearly 3 weeks over AK's false accusations and her quite convenient "imagined scenarios" - I don't blame Patrick Diya Lumumba for suing her for defamation of character. He did not to deserve to be thrown in jail for a crime he didn't commit... he had a rock solid alibi and his story did not change NOT ONCE. AK and RS took this all as one big joke and they always have little devilish smirks on their faces when ever I see pictures of them. I live in South Carolina and I am definitely against their little famous acquittals.

Gee why didn;t I come to the same conclusion that you have.  Books are 100% accurate.  Afterall, books are published only to print the truth. . .

Amanda is Free, Guede never Will Be!

Only black people would pull the fucking race card out here.  This has nothing to do with race.  He came all over the victim and left his blood and semen all over the place and then fled.  Why would he flee if he was innocent?  You people are ridiculous that think Guede deserves one ounce of empathy after justice was served for Amanda Knox.

0
Free Guede

off course only black people should pull out the race card because the are the only ones predominantly trashed with racism, if Guedes only reaction indicates guilt, then what the hell most enlightened  blacks will always be guilty in all cases i for one know instinctively what i would have than in the aftermath of such an even I wouldn't even consider staying on that continent of Europe, am unaware of the details of the case but to help those who claim racism wasn't an issue fasten your selves based on the facts and re access your position.
