The 2011 Running of the Bulls saw a major injury to an Australian tourist.
During the July 8, 2011 edition of the Running of the Bulls, a 25-year-old Aussie was gored in the leg by a half-ton bull.
The tourist was injured after running behind the bull in Pamplona's bullfighting ring. The bull turned around and the tourist slipped and fell to the ground. The toro gored the man's right thigh and tossing him around in the Pamplona's famed bull ring.
The bull's horn pierced the Aussie tourist's right femoral artery and a vein.
The tourist was transferred to a hospital in the province in Navarra where he underwent surgery. Doctors have described his condition as "serious."
Six other runners were injured during the July 8, 2011 Running of the Bulls.
