Rush Limbaugh further alienated Hispanic voters (from the GOP) by comparing Sonia Sotomayor, who is likely to be confirmed as the first Latina Supreme Court Justice, to a housekeeper.

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and Associate Professor of Politics and African-American Studies Melissa Harris-Lacewell discussed Rush's recent slam of Sonia Sotomayor: “I think I’m going to send Sotomayor and her club a bunch of vacuum cleaners to help them clean up after their meetings,” Limbaugh sneered.

Limbaugh was referring to Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor’s acknowledgment that she belongs to an organization for “influential women who are key decision makers.”

The group calls itself Belizean Grove in mockery of “the Bohemian Grove, a 130-year-old, elite old boys’ network” and states that its aim is to “help women pursue more significant dreams, ambitions, purposes, transcendence, and spiritual fulfillment, while also opening up more leadership opportunities.”
