Rwanda becomes another country outside of the sphere of the Commonwealth of Nations to join it. The first country was Mozambique in the 1990's. Louise Mushikiwabo who is the Information Minister is content and talked about the country's progress during the last 15 years.

It appears that Rwanda has come a long way from the period of the 100 day genocide in 1994. During the 1994 genocide, the underwriter heard part of the broadcasts from Rwanda inciting the people to kill others.

While many people have complained about the human rights situation in Rwanda, it is important to think that the same people who complained did nothing to stop the bloodshed. Rwanda is angry at France and Beliguim [Francophone Countries which influenced the country] for doing nothing.

Rwanda has responded by placing emphasis on learning English, increasing ties to countries such as USA and Great Britain. Rwanda has made progress and with time will make more progress as it recovers from the genocide period.
