"He's a hussar who knows how to pull the sword, but certainly not
a chess player" was the comment of a high level French diplomat,
quoted by Le Figaro expressing the "disappointment" from
Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili's behavior in the Caucasus
crisis.
Paris estimates Saakashvili "lost it" when he threw his army
against South Ossetia in an "ill-timed, even irresponsible"
fashion, writes {Le Figaro}. The message from Paris goes to those
other countries in proximity of Moscow, such as Ukraine or
Moldavia, demanding them not "to add even more tension" to the current crisis with Russia,
which remains very tense.
